I have a 7ft M/F bassX and I was wondering if it would be good for jerkbaits and liplesses? It seems light and loads later down the blank like a mod fast rod, gonna be throwing jerks and liplesses super hard so I want to make sure I have a good fit for a rod.

It's really hard to evaluate what works for others, especially considering that the power and action ratings vary so much, even within one company's product line.  But from what I think I know about St Croix, if the rod's lure weight recommendations fit what you plan to cast, it should work OK.  But the best thing is to try it.  If it works, fine.  If it doesn't , use it for another technique that is a better fit.

If you’re talking about the old bass x model with the blue logo I have this exact rod and it’s for sale too because I’m not a huge fan of it…..

that said I think the rod would make a great crankbait rod because it loads up so well so that’s what I would use it for personally. I only don’t like it because I bought it online thinking it was a fast action and it’s a moderate to moderate fast at best it surprised me really. You could use it for jerkbaits too if you had to it just wouldn’t be the greatest for it
