This is such a strange concept to me... I am someone that runs drag much lighter than I need because I thumb the spool to regulate my drag. I don't understand why I would want 0 drag...

X2 or is it x3

Just weird that they say there is no drag when the site claims it has 22lbs of drag or something.  I dunno I forget.   LoL

Just read the site. Claims no drag #, and that the spool is locked.

I guess i'm just ignorant...i don't see any advantage of a locked - downed drag on any reel type. White is the new green !

Yeah man.  I retract that statement.    I thought I read that somewhere unless I imagined it or was looking at a diff reel right after.  Ha ha.    I haven’t checked the site in a bit so definitely confused there.   Was curious on this reel though.

I see an advantage. I use 20lb line on my pitching setups and have the drag locked down pretty good. Close quarters, Hard hook set, get in boat. If needed, engage thumb bar.

Seems this reel is marketed for heavy Braid line and frogging/topwater. 65lb Braid, hard hook set, drag out of the muck, get in boat.

I do that with 11lbs of drag.  Fish are effectively weightless in the water and do not pull at their own body weight.  If the drag slips on me (it doesn't) its because I slipped it with the energy I put into the system and not anything the fish did.  The poor thing is probably pinned sideways against as a sandwich between me being an ape on the hookset and a branch.

Yeah I see what you’re saying. Basically, it’s a gimmick since you can just lock down drag on most reels and accomplish the same thing.

I’m considering charging double for pinion gear replacement on these… just ‘cuz. Lol

I've never even held a reel that brand in my hands, but I've always considered them throwaway reels.

Throwaway is probably a little harsh. They’re a good value budget reel, but they need to stay in their lane. This is a sorry attempt at innovation better left to established brands. Imo
