Anyone get an e-mail offering free sunglasses from KastKing?

I have purchased a few things form KastKing over the past couple of years.  About two weeks ago, I got a promotional e-mail from them offering a chance to "spin the prize wheel" or something like that in which I was guaranteed to win some kind of prize.  In my experience, the "prize" in these kind of things usually is a percentage-off code, or something like that, but I gave it a shot anyway.

 

I won an assortment of bladed jigs: my choice of either their 3/8 oz. or 1/2 oz. bladed jigs in all five colors.  I was skeptical, but the five lures showed up in the mail shortly after, in a nice plastic case.

 

The free sunglasses thing is a bit different.  There is an Amazon.com link to KastKing's "Innoko" polarized sunglasses and the e-mail promises a refund via PayPal after purchase.  Sounds a little sketchy, eh?  I forwarded the e-mail to KastKing to ask if it's legit, just in case...  ?

I’ve never heard of a refund after purchase thing.
       I still get an email  once an a while, about someone  stuck in a foreign land and if that they will transfer x amount in my account, if I send them x amount and I get to keep the rest.

I got the same thing from them a while back for a cooler, not interested.

Sounds like they want you to give them a positive review. They want you to pay so you show up as an actual purchaser. The free/refund part may actually be legit. If you can call bribing someone to get a fake review legit.

I got a response from KastKing support...  the offer is for real.

I’ve gotten that a few times over the years and was skeptical as well. The one time I was actually interested in what they were offering. Kastking was a sponsor here so I asked Glenn and he thought it was strange too but he reached out to his contacts at Kastking and it was legit. Still strange. By the time he heard back the offer had expired. Oh well I was terribly disappointed.

Absolutely correct.

 

A company contacted me to do Amazon reviews for free fishing products. Except they PayPal-ed me the money first, then I'd buy it with that.

 

Worked great until I left a 2 star review for them.

 

They say "Please before leaving bad review contact us and tell us the problem"

 

"#@%^ no!!! That is not how it works!"  That was the end of that.

 

Company name is PLUSINNO. but don't be mad at just them...so many companies do this. I still use the rod stand in my house. The line spooler/winder was garbage.

Still seems strange, but I guess it's not much different than when you get 100% rebates (which I haven't seen in years).

I'm sure it's to build positive reviews.  But the "bribing" part, as schplurg described, is merely an attempt, not a guarantee.  Everyone has their price and, I can assure you, mine is higher than a twenty-dollar pair of sunglasses!   ?
