How does everyone like these combos? For $199 they don’t seem to bad I’m Lookin g at the 7’ medium. For pond hoping

Not a fan of the reels. Neither of mine stayed smooth very long, and weren't all that smooth to start with. The rods are pretty decent for the price, comparable to the Abu Veritas. I'd spend my $199 on an ARK Cobb or Lancer series and a $99 Lew's LFS. Better rod and reel than the carbonlites.

the carbonlite rod's by themself are decent, i can't speak much for the reel though. i'd stick with a daiwa, shimano reel if it were me.

I have the med hvy and the med casting rods. They are my favorites. I put Shimano SLX on both of them.

I bought one about 2-3 years ago, I love it rod and reel, got the combo.

I have the 6’6” med with a lefty 6:8 ratio, and to be totally honest, I did replace the spool bearings after about year and a half. One started making noise when casting. I went to Bass pro to by a new bait caster it was on they were on sale $70.00 plus for the reel and $70.00 plus for the rod. The combo was $205.00 , the sales guy said he didn’t know what was going on. “I just mark it what they tell us”. So I bought one , glad I did. It has been a good rig.

I have the m/f spinning rod.  Not a fan of the micro guides, but it seems to be fairly sensitive, and good with crankbaits and weightless plastics.

I've not purchased one, but I know at my local BPS they have carbonlite rods with other reels that they can sell too - that way you can get the rod with a better reel. 

 

Tbh though for that money I'd go to academy and get an h20xpress tac40

They're $60 right now on closeout. Pair it with a good Lews casting reel that fits your price range. You won't regret it. For spinning gear, daiwa reels.

I have a spinning combo and a bait casting combo, like them both a lot, I feel they are very good combos for the price, but I don’t go much higher than that price range either.

I love my combo.  I have the 6ft9 mh casting combo with a 8:1 reel.  I use it as a lighter jig rod and reel.  I should have bought another as a heavy pitching rod instead of the bass-x rod I ended up with.

 Yep. Two years ago they had the rods with Revo SX’s on them for $159.99. I bought a couple, wish I’d have bought a couple more.

They also have them listed on the website where you can customize the combo and order it for pickup at the store of your choice. You are only limited by what's in stock. This should be featured at all BPS if I'm not mistaken

I’ve had my Carbon Lite 2.0 7’-0” med power combo since they were first brought on the market. It was my only combo at the time and I used it for everything under spins, spinnerbaits and my favorite use for it lipless cranks. It has a soft tip but strong backbone. I think for what you’re looking for it will be perfect.

Well I stopped and got a 7’ medium and 7’ medium heact combo and some 40 pound braid for them. Can’t wait to try and get some Iowa bass

The Carbonlite 2.0 rods are very good in my opinion. They are light, sensitive, comfortable, and durable. I have the 6'8" M-XF spinning and a 6'6" M-F casting rod in the line and they have treated me well.

 

No experience with the reels.

As far as the reels go, they are Doyo, so they are as good as any other Doyo.
