Bluegillslayer Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Hello, I am going to Lake Powell for spring break and was interested in catching largemouth, smallmouth, striper, and northern pike as well as catfish. I was wondering if any angler who has had success at Powell have any lure and technique tips on how to catch any of these species? Thanks. Quote
Super User WRB Posted March 30, 2022 Super User Posted March 30, 2022 Are you renting a house boat or taking a boat? Powell is a big desert lake subject to high winds coming up with little warning, use caution. Bass relate to shaded pockets along the rock walls and any wood or baseball size rocks. The upper end of Powell is better multi species area and flatter banks, less wind. Red/purple color soft plastic worms drop shot rig like Roboworm Falkstad Spl and MMIII is good. Trolling beep diving shad color lures for stripers. Cut fresh fish for catfish bait? Tom 1 1 Quote
