As the season progresses and some of my techniques & presentations change,

so does 'the line up'.

But here's the early season rigs ~

Still haven't mounted the reels for this season yet - but here's my rods at least. Not as big a 'collection' as A-Jay, but it gets me through.

The reel itself has no bearing on what I’m picking up.
The line, which rod it’s on, IPT, and what I plan to do with it does, which is all predetermined when I spooled it up.

To answer your question…

4 Curado’s

1 Chronarch

1 JM Signature

1 Pro Qualifier

Plus various spares

Edit: No spinning reels

Wow, impressive selections above @A-Jay & @MN Fisher

I'm still fishing the my ~30 year old Citica & Curado’s, paired to Cabela's branded rods from same era. I have four bait casters and six spinning rods.

Room to take 6 rods in my boat.

Not much, but enough for me : )

I wonder how many glossed over or simply missed the “early season rigs” lol. That’s quite a collection for the entire year, let alone just the early season.

Your BM’s surname has gotta be Kong!

Frankly, I love the color coding. It appeals to my 5S nature.

No reason to list my walleye, panfish, or muskie reels.

Note that the more recent finesse reels have surpassed the older Pixy reel in pretty much all respects, though I still enjoy fishing the latter.

I don't have any reels that come off the bench.

This is the starting lineup. Lol

Couple of Shimano, an Abu, couple of Kastking and Lew's.

Do all my Ned's and DS on a Lew's spinning ( not pictured ).PXL_20220329_183557301.thumb.jpg.8134e2fb690c1942e0dee9ed5d4ac472.jpg

I have combos that never change.

The only time I take the reel off is to clean both or respool.

Probably about 3/4 of my baitcasters are various flavors of Quantum Smoke or Daiwa Tatulas.  They are the reels that I tend to keep on my most frequently used rods.

Two model families that are in the sweet spot of affordable and reliable.  Bonus in that braking systems are similar enough that switching between is rather seemless.

Ditto

Having combo’s that are dialed in for where, how and what I fish on them never changes.

2ABU 4600C. 1 Qauntum Tour grade. 1 Lew's LFS casting reel.        1 Shimano Sahara spinning reel. 1. Lew's spinning reel.                  These all get swapped around with different lines as the season goes on.

3 Lew's Tournament MB's. These were discontinued about a year ago. I have three because I liked the first one so much.

1 Lew's LFS

1 Daiwa Fuego CT

Also a couple of Pflueger Trion spinning reels. As you can see, I'm a middle of the budget kind of guy. I feel like $100-150 is still a pretty decent amount of money and should get you something you can use for years.

I have some others I don't use anymore. All of the Lew's reels blow the Daiwa away. I can't really complain about the Daiwa. It has worked fine for over a year. It's just a noisy reel. A couple of those Lew's are 5 years old and are smoother.

I love my Lew's LFS. I have 4 Lew's reels. But that LFS is the best bang for the buck of any I've owned. I got it in 8.3:1 ratio for my pitching combo. As I said in the post above, I also have a Daiwa Fuego CT I bought on the recommendation of others on this board. My experience may not be typical, but my LFS is vastly superior to my Fuego.
