BassSteve Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 Not too many fish but they were great size. It's really cool to catch peacock bass in the same hole you catch largemouth. It may be my imagination, but peacock bass seem more aggressive than largemouth..? Oh, my foot is 10.5" by the way for scale lol ? 5 Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted March 29, 2022 Super User Posted March 29, 2022 Nice catch’s. I’m sure you already know that peacocks and Oscars (also in your waters) are African Cichlids which might explain their difference in action. One of my bucket list trips is to go to the Amazon on a Peacock excursion. 1 Quote
BassSteve Posted March 29, 2022 Author Posted March 29, 2022 Oh yeah, I know the last fish I caught in the pictures is a Mayan cichlid, but I had no idea that peacock bass are actually a cichlid! Thanks for telling me Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted March 29, 2022 Super User Posted March 29, 2022 Peacocks are not African, though they are cichlids, what folks refer to as peacock bass are actually 3 different species. Oh, and LMB are sunfish... Quote
