DaubsNU1 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Years ago BassPro made a spinnerbait with some fancy wire that was super bendy, unbreakable...I still have a few left. Does anyone make similar these days? Quote
Captain Phil Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Most of my bass fishing these days is done on the Harris Chain. My home overlooks Lake Eustis and the City ramp is a block away. In the spring, our lakes look like a boat show and the ramp parking lots are full with parking down the street. There must be at least 3-4 local bass tournaments each weekend plus the big TV tournaments. Our bass see thousands of lures all day long. If you are going to catch bass here, you must do something different than the rest. Most anglers are on 24 volt high firing off cast after cast hoping a bass will bite. I know where the bass are so I don't need to run all over looking for fish. To get them to bite, I fish slow and I make multiple casts to the same target. In short, I make the fish bite. I don't need to catch a bunch of fish to make myself happy. I prefer to catch larger bass. The spinnerbait is the tool that I choose 90% of the time.. 5 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted March 28, 2022 Super User Posted March 28, 2022 Most of the time I dont use compact baits , unless fishing deep water . I like plenty of room between the blades and hook . Quote

Bought a pack to try and since then they've been disposed of never to be used again. The Spinnerbait in pic actually walked itself completely out of clip during a fight...... never again. Quote

Super User gim Posted March 28, 2022 Super User Posted March 28, 2022 Any spinnerbait will work, just as long as its a Terminator. The discontinued titanium version to be exact. 4 Quote

The turtle back shaped blades really have a lot of "thump" to them. The titanium frame is extremely durable too. Pike ruin steel versions here pretty quick. Once the steel frame is bent, it really doesn't work anymore either. 3 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted March 28, 2022 Super User Posted March 28, 2022 I like the Terminator titanium spinnerbaits, but they came in two types, the ones that fell apart after a few days, and the ones that seem to last for ever. I still have maybe a dozen of the latter... 1 Quote

The skirts take a beating too on mine but as long as the frame holds up, I can replace those pretty easily. I think I have about 10 total. Those 3 still in the original packaging and 6 or 7 that are in my box currently in use. A black spinnerbait was probably my best lure last season. Normally I would just toss that color at night but I decided to give it a try on a rainy August day and it was very effective. I kept using it until the season ended with pretty good success. 1 Quote

Danika 327 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Hear me out on this i know they are on the cheaper side but i love my booyah spinners. But what i think is prob different from others because i do a lot of pond fishing so i lose a lot of baits when i'm getting snagged on things. I think they do great for the price you cant beat it and altho i'm sad when i lose one it does not kill me. 4 Quote

But I'm very happy with the Strike King Banshees from DSG...I've got 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 oz in 3-4 colors each. Quote

Blade Indiana, Colorado, or Willow...Colorado/Willow? very different question to all around or 'just one' type questions. if you want a burner, then a 1/2 oz strike king double willow with the razr blades. That's my usual first pick for a spinnerbait when I'm trying to cover water. You can burn them fast and they stay upright. They fish a lot heavier than a 3/8 would but aren't a beast to cast like a 3/4 and up. I tend to throw them with a 3.3" Keitech SIF as a trailer. Quote
Derek1 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 3/8’s zman in bluegill has been the most consistent for me. 1 Quote

Sphynx Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Hmm...probably a war eagle 3/8 or maybe 1/2 oz in the mouse color, if I had to stick to one color blades I'd have to go silver Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted March 28, 2022 Super User Posted March 28, 2022 Why does everyone want to limit me to only one of things? Bait ? says, "Enough! You need at least 2 each of 10 different configurations." 2 1 Quote

Well that's just no fun. My basic idea is I want a 1/2oz single colorado with a bullet head, something like a chartreuse, grey, and white skirt, with a half and half silver/gold, size #4.5 blade. I can't pick between a silver and gold blade so I picked both. I don't like anything on the market now out of the package for single colorado's. The closest is this one, a 1/2 oz covert. But I ain't happy about the blade size. I already feel old. Some of my favorite stuff is going away. Zorro makes a good single Colorado. 1 Quote
