I fish a lot of baits on my MF spinning rig (although 99% of the time it’s set up as my WR rig). I have a Daiwa AIRD-X 6’6” rod that’s been idle ever since I put a Tatula on a Dobyns Fury 705CB last year. The 12 lb. YZH was in need of replacement on the Black Max reel, so I just respooled it with 10 lb. Big Game. I’m trying to figure out what it’s best suited for. The Fury is my crankbait/topwater rig. What else would be good on a MF baitcasting rig?

I agree with @Deleted account here. The Aird-X runs a little bit on the heavier side, so you should be able to use it for weightless and lightly weighted soft plastics and spinnerbaits up to 3/8oz as well.

I was thinking about using it with shakey heads with lightweight soft plastics.

Recently bought one for small/light cranks like mann's baby -1, and winter-sized underspins. It's doing the job for that. Might use it for jerkbaits too, since it is likely to be spooled with lighter line than most of my rigs.

I have a 6’6” medium fast casting it’s one of my favorite rods. Its 1/4-5/8’s, you can do allot in that range as long as the cover isn’t to heavy. Great setup for one rod to beat the banks with.

I tossed a 1/8 oz shakeyhead with a Zoom Trick for about 5 minutes at the local pond just to see how it casted. It casted great. Should be good with a jerkbait, too.

Yup

jerkbait, popper, light t rig, weightless plastics, finess jig. The list goes on and on.

I'm still using my 6'6" M/F Aird-X for shore fishing. The wide range of lure rating means I use it for 3/8 jigs, chatters, spinners as well as the 'normal' Medium rated techniques without issue.
