QED Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Just ordered a Saint Croix XFC68MXF since I needed a medium/XF casting rod. The carbon fiber guides seem cool though the overall rod weight seems quite a bit heavier than the Phenix K2 approximate equivalent. Anyone use one of these - if so, how is it? 1 Quote
Nelson Delaney Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 It’s a great rod & very sensitive. You may need to try different weight/size reels on it until you find the right balance. When balanced the weight is not an issue. 1 Quote
Deephaven Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 That is one of my favorite blanks. Built mine up slightly different than the Extreme, but it is one of my favorite rods to hold and use. 1 Quote

TNBankFishing Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I have 2 elites and 2 x’s. Can anyone give me feedback on the step up from the other legend sticks? They are already super light, and very sensitive. I have ags guides on two other rods so those don’t scare me much, but do they really make a difference? The blank is the exact same from elite/x to xtreme. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I have a bunch of the older ones. Not the length you have. I really like them. They have quickly become my favorite rod to throw. 2 Quote

QED Posted March 31, 2022 Author Posted March 31, 2022 Rod arrived. Build quality seems pretty darned good: Quote
torm Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 I got the 7'1 mh xf on a good deal and its a solid rod. I really like the visuals of it but it did not wow me like my other rods unfortunately. I like the ags guides but if you beat up your gear be careful. They don't bend like regular guides, instead they just snap. I was able to replace it at a cost of 15 dollars plus whatever I paid for shipping if I remembered right. I still don't think its worth its retail price though. If it was like the first gen price it would be amazing but at 660 your in the nrx price zone which has a life time warranty instead of 15 year. 1 Quote
QED Posted March 31, 2022 Author Posted March 31, 2022 Legend Xtreme vs Phenix K2 both with slightly different Shimano Alderbaran BFS reels on each. One can't help but notice the 1.1 oz weight advantage of the Phenix but both rigs are pretty sweet. Quote
Mat_ski Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 My friend has one. Got to fish it few times. Fine rod, but the handle gets hot in the sun and for me, sk reel seat is the deal breaker. Too bad they went with the same reel seat for victory and new LT. 1 Quote
