With .15 mm braid and .25mm FC leader the Alberto is .3 mm and the Seguar is .45mm. Both are small enough to use with 4mm micros with this 15 pound test line/14 pound test leader combination. Since I'm used to tying the "improved" Alberto, I'll stick with it. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted March 28, 2022 Super User Posted March 28, 2022 I use 15# braid with generally a 8# fluorocarbon leader for weightless senkos on spinning gear (I use 15# on both of my spinning reels, just generally use a 6# leader on the other one). On casting gear, I use 12# fluorocarbon, although would consider 10# as well if I had another reel for it in many situations. Quote

I think I will try my hand with Braid in the 15 to 20 lb range in yellow, might help with the old man eyes. Thinking a 4=6' Leader of mono leader with a Barrel swivel in between. And how do you cast this? You will have 6 ft hanging off your rod tip.Zero accuracy. I agree with Glenn about no leaders. Edited March 28, 2022 by dodgeguy Quote
Super User WRB Posted March 28, 2022 Super User Posted March 28, 2022 I tried 20# Smack Down in bright green to use as a strike indicator for weightless 5” Senko with 7 lb Sniper leader. Didn’t like the 29# Smack Down at .010D, sticky casting, not smooth. I replaced the #20 Smack Down with Fins 20# .008D Sling Shot braid made a big difference in casting quite and smooth. I am not a fan of braid with leaders and 99% go with straight mono, FC or braid. I use 5 lb (.008D) Maxima Ultra Green for the majority of my finesse spinning presentations and keep the bright braid/leader on a spare spool for Senko’s. Tom Quote
