Sphynx Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 So, I was in Walmart the other day and I found this guy for something like $2.50, close as I can figure it might just be a strike king or whoever else's spinnerbait with a different brand and reduced price, anybody tried these yet? 3 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted March 25, 2022 Super User Posted March 25, 2022 I have noticed them too . It has a good swivel unlike other inexpensive baits . Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 25, 2022 Global Moderator Posted March 25, 2022 I found one in a tree and tied it on because I had brought no spinnerbaits with me. It worked well other than not getting bit. 1 Quote

detroit1 Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 If that swivel works good, it will catch. And if the hook is sharp. Quote
MyKeyBe Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 For $2.50 they are pretty good. I had one tied on almost all last summer. They catch fish for sure. Eagle Claw hooks and a bearing swivel, whats not to like? 6 Quote

Sphynx Posted March 31, 2022 Author Posted March 31, 2022 I don't know too many spinnerbaits that aren't a matter of catches away from needing a new skirt, just part of fishing them in my mind, great to hear! Quote

I've bought inline spinners from Walmart / Ozark and they do not work well at low speeds. I bought a 5-Pack of spinners there once. Replace the rubberband with wire, it won't last. 1 Quote
MyKeyBe Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 What rubberband? They use a tied 50 strand skirt. Quote

MyKeyBe Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 There is no rubberband on the skirt. The skirt is held on with a string like a hand tied skirt. Probably a machine tied skirt. They hold up pretty good. 1 Quote

I freely confess I had taken it for granted that it was a rubberband...the price and the manufacturer both led me to assume something, this is pretty crazy, a $2.50 spinnerbait that's actually tied...wow 3 Quote

Was maybe $8 for five of them. I don't think they were Ozark brand though now that I think about it. Bought them at Walmart super cheap though. Looked like the bands they use for braces/teeth. Most broke before ever using them. They sat for awhile though. maybe a year or more. If they come with rubberbands (any bait) swap 'em out. It's not the same as the bait in the OP photo, I've never seen those. Quote
grantn_fishing Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 I used one and first cast the end unfolded and all the blades and beads fell off leaving me with a spinnerbait with only a jighead and a wire. 1 1 1 Quote
