Carolann is the first girl I fell in love with & the first girl I kissed!

Growing up our families, those of 2-3 uncles, & a couple friends families would going camping in remote wilderness locations.

Our childhood dream was moving to Africa where I would become a wilderness guide.

Fast forward 30+ years the only wilderness camping we do has central air/heat. The campsite better be with driving distance of a mall.

We both understand each other enough to know there's a time to spend together & a time to be apart.

My wife and I will be married 34 years this year.  I think she has been fishing with me 3 or 4 times over the years.  Her thing is bird watching,  I think I have gone with her 2 or 3 times.  We do photography together, usually on a trip somewhere.

I've been with my gal for coming up on 11 years. The first couple years she went with me all the time, both open water and thru the ice. Once the newness of fishing wore off since it isn't her thing she got burned out. She fishes maybe 1 or 2 times a year...but its not uncommon for her to come hang out and read a book. She has expressed interest this year in trying to catch a big one..either spring or fall..so we will see what happens.

My wife loves the water, and I love fishing, but not vise versa... so what we like to do sometimes is tie up a tube to the back of the boat, give it about 50 or so feet of a leash, and I pull her around the lake as I fish from the trolling motor... She gets to relax and read her magazines out there, and I get to fish... It's rather comical. But it works for us.

My wife grew up in a hunting/fishing family, where she was made to take care of her dad’s deer dogs, clean and cook fish and game. She has no desire to hunt, and very little to fish. But she doesn’t have a problem with me doing it. I do all the cleaning, but she’ll do some of the cooking.

We used to camp and fish some, but haven’t in a long time now.

She will listen to my outdoor stories, and gets somewhat excited if I catch a biggun.

I used to be annoyed by her cutting into my outdoor pursuits with honey do’s, and always wanting me to go on activities with her.

I got really sick and tired of all the conflicts about it we had.

So one day, I was basically faced with the decision of “ love her, or lose her”

I chose the former. I thought I would rarely ever be able to do anything I wanted to again. But when I stepped it up and started loving her unconditionally, which meant time and chores, I discovered that she was fine with my outdoor plans.

We've been together 27 years and the key for me is making sure she is physically satisfied and then she is ok with me doing whatever.  At the moment though it is attention for my boys that causes me to not go.  I refuse to miss out on their games, concerts and other such things.

I love the idea of the tube behind. My wife loves to read and would dig that.  On the 521 she would just lay on the rear deck but with the tiller the tube trick would work.  She likes to pick up the rod when I find a good spot but wants me to do the hard work.

We have been married for 20 years. I love fishing and my wife knows it. She won’t bait her own hook or handle the fish. Those are my jobs.

There were years when my son was born until he was old enough to hold a fishing rod where I didn’t fish much. I wanted to be involved in his everyday care. Changing diapers, night time feedings, etc.

As he got older and I was able to take him fishing the trips got more frequent. Now that he is a teenager and got a whiff of the “fumes” (perfume and car fumes) it’s back to solo fishing.

Good thing about the North Country and not liking ice fishing is that my wife has a good 3 to 4 months to get sick of me before spring fishing starts. She practically pushes me out the door. By October she is missing me again.

My wife loves to fish but to much maintenance is involved for me to get into a zone so I just troll her around for pan fish.

No way can I seriously pursue Bass with my wife aboard, prefer silence.
