I'm looking for reccomendations for bigger jerkbaits, I'm a big fan of like the xrap 12 (4.75") and the smithwick super rogue (5") but I'm looking for a bait with semi-beefy hooks but still suspending with a good lunge on the pull. Any ideas?

Check Rollie & Helens for musky jerk baits. Also look at Rapala F18 original floater 7" long. Duo realis Fangbait 140 5.5" long & 1 3/8 oz a heavy duty bait. Megabass Kanata 6 1/3" long 1oz weight. Also look at LC Pointer 128. You can upgrade the hooks on most baits without creating any problems by using Owner Zo Wire STX-38ZN X+ or X-45 2X+ or STX-58TN 3X+

Where do you find the fangbaits? All I can find is the TW store with two colors, the lemonhead is alright but I'd rather have other colors haha

Edit- not really a fan of actual musky jerkbaits. Hate suicks with a passion but I am a fan of glidebaits as a broad category. Mostly 4-6" glides are what I throw.

Megabass Kanata

For bass or musky? For the latter, I've done well with my striped bass plugs (large JBs in LMB lingo)

The Long A 16a, and the Luhr Jensen Javelin to name 2. Academy has some good somewhat smaller ones as well, I think they are 5" or 5.5"

Are they suspending or a slow float?

Well, I use bass jerks for musky, just upsized hooks and everything.

Have you fished just the standard pointer 100? It actually seems pretty beefy to me and you could put some big ewg trebles on it no problem.

Tried them once, happened to somehow snag it lol. I'm gonna pick another one up, for sure.

The Kanata is a slow floater. With the heavier hooks you'd need for muskie it would probably be an even slower floater or suspending bait.

I would more than likely get rid of the center hook, makes unhooking from the boney yap of a musky/pickerel easier for me

Not a fan of hellhounds, I do like other glidebaits though. I fish for tigers and they prefer smaller baits as a general thing.

If you can find one, Gag's Mambo Minnow, shhhhh....

Bomber Salt/Magnum size 6” & 7” in CHO* color works good in Lake of the Woods for Pike and Musky. My son was using them while I was wearing myself with Suicks. Tommy caught some big Pike and a few 20 lb class muskies.

I had these for LMB fishing at lake Isabella in California as a jerk bait.

Tom

*CHO is black-silver back, gold-chrome sides and orange belly.

Good advice.  For more than just jerk baits.

I just sent in my annual order.

Muskies are large predatory fish that are similar to barracudas in the way they hunt. Both fish will hit a large lure just like they will hit a small lure. You have to present the lure at the right place, at the right time, with the right presentation and hope the fish bites and when it does it will remind you why you invest so much of your free time chasing these awesome fish.

I am using Lucky Cratft as well. Just they are always sold out and you need to pre purchase some colors from TW.

Have you looked at the S-Waver 168 or the Savage Gear glides? I have both and they are good values for the money.

Then there is always the Suick! ?  Curious why do you hate the Suick?

I haven't tried jointed glides, I really should but there's so little info on those sort of baits for muskies/tigers so I don't want to end up buying baits that aren't effective, ya know what I mean?

Suicks are too much screwing around in terms of tuning, that's why I dislike them. I'm sure there are good ones out there but every one of them I've bought have a crappy action and no wobble on the rise. I have had one DnR bait that I do like though, the riverhawk from Steve Bates.
