Pretty amazing story there at the end, at the award ceremonies, by Luke Clausen, giving Bobby Lane credit for showing him around Kissamee during pre-fishing when Clausen was able to win a bassmaster classic. He said he gives Lane the credit for that win, so if he wasn't going to win today, he wanted Bobby to win. Glad they are on good terms, Clausen sure was poised to win it, beating out Connell and Wheeler. Props to him, I'm about as happy for him as I am for Lane. Love Connell and Wheeler, but glad some other guys are winning to give those 2 a run for their money. Wheeler is such a machine, I'm glad to see competition still holding.

Towards the end when Lane caught that fish, people where saying that was a rules infraction on how he handled the fish. What was the controversy about? Seems like he boat flipped the fish into the boat. What am I missing?

That was quite the last few minutes. I love a race that comes down to the end.

Only thing I can think of was when that last one swung back to the back deck. Looked like it was gonna hit but couldn’t see on camera. Maybe some are assuming it did. Either way wouldn’t that have amounted to a 2 min penalty with the fish still counting?  I’m not a MLF rules expert so maybe I’m wrong but the outcome would’ve been the same I believe.

When I first seen it, looked like the there was fish landing violation for the fish hitting the deck, but it was out of camera view, and the ref didn't call it... so it must not have hit the deck.  Lane would have reacted if it did, being so close to the end of the round.  When I looked at the replay, I don't think it hit the deck, looks like it was just swinging around.

the weighing thing didn't seem right but ig that's the rules

That being said congrats Bobby!

The rules are if during the tournament you weigh a fish multiple times that is above the minimum limit, the lowest weight is recorded.

OR if you weigh a fish multiple times that barely weighs enough, the highest weight is recorded.

I dunno, seemed like the scale that determined the winner was only right 1 of 3 times on the final fish???

I think I know which weight the angler was hoping for.

But there is really no way to "Know" which weight was accurate

without comparing it to at least one other scale.

btw - I'm not advocating or promoting any rules change.

I like it the way it is.
