scrutch Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 anyone have anything to say about this unit? I've got a line on one for $250 "complete". It says "GPS capable". Is the GPS puck all you need to make it GPS? I'm considering it, but would like some input from the experts (yes that's you!). Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted May 12, 2010 Super User Posted May 12, 2010 The unit has the highest resolution screen in the industry. It comes with a dual frequency transducer 83/200 khz. It can be used as a track plotter IF you buy a GPS antenna that works with it (see specs in the manual or download the manual from the Humminbird web site). The "c" in the model name means COLOR screen. It does not have and will not use any mapping software. The mount is a uni-mount with no knobs or bracket. It is basically a plug-in with the connecting cables contained in the base that swivels and tilts. It will display and store GPS tracks (that is what a plotter is), and saved waypoints. It will store routes that the user creates using multiple saved waypoints. Quote
