I know they are not what they use to be. In a nose dove for years. Lurenet will buy a business only to run it into the ground.

Can’t buy a thing. Basic stuff as spares can’t be had. I looks like they have no desire to compete with others like SPRO, 6th Sense or Lucky Craft.

Fold.

I think it's  safe to say that 90% of all fishing lure sales are purchased because anglers are hoping to buy something that is better than what they currently have.  We rarely buy lures to replace what is lost or worn out.  I personally love what Lurenet is doing.  They sell lures that I've been using for decades and those lures haven't changed in decades.  They don't change them and try to convince us that we need to buy the new version because they're better.  We're bombarded with adds telling us that company X has found the latest new thing that will change fishing forever.  That special new thing is almost never any better than something that has stood the test of time.  I don't buy a lot from Lurenet because I already have a good supply of their lures but it's good to know I can replace my old favorites when I need to.   They're also reasonably priced because they're not spending a fortune on marketing.

That's just my humble opinion. :smile2:

If I can’t get a few classic patterns, they have had plenty over the years, they are pretty dead to me. If they bought Bomber to deliver all the more they currently do, has to be a loosing venture.

You realize that "Lurenet" is one of the biggest lure brands that dwarfs those others you mention, and probably spends more on beer at a corporate outing than the others make all year, no?...

Bomber Baits is setting the fishing world on fire right now? Where?

Bomber made several types of very successful lures during time period they were an independent lure mfr.

The original “Bomber” from which the company got it’s name looked like a bomb. This lure was a deep diver made of wood with a metal diving bill that had a very tight wiggle compared to deep diving plugs of that time period.

The old original wooden Bomber still catches bass today. The mass produced plastic modeled model doesn’t have that fish catching action.

Bomber also made a spinnerbait called Bush Wacker, a twin spin type. The Bomber Slab Spoon a structure spoon that still popular. The Bomber A series came out in the 70’s, 6A and 7A. Medium divers are still popular and catch. The Long A is still made today and remains successful.

So when you ask is the Bomber a thing of past, which Bomber?

I catch fish every year on the old ‘bomb’ style Bombers, and I’ll take all the Model A Bombers you want to dispose of. They still catch fish just fine for me.

Bomber baits is just a brand owned by PRADCO.  I suspect that it is managed by the same people that manage all the other PRADCO brands and they are not trying to set the fishing world on fire with the Bomber brand.  There is no one trying to invent the next great lure.  They are just trying to make money selling the classic Bomber baits.  Personally,  I'm okay with that.  The people who made the brand great when it was an independent company are gone.    IMO PRADCO honors people like Cotton Cordell by keeping the lures they developed alive and available to anglers that love them.  Thank you PRADCO for not exploiting these brands by introducing Bomber fishing line.  This is what's been happening to the Strike King brand since Rather Outdoors bought the company and shut it down.

Most of the people trying to "set this fishing world on fire" are trying to do so through clever marketing.

I don’t fish hard baits like crank or rip baits often. I tend to open immediately and toss the package. Then over time forget what brand or color scheme of the baits I own.

I’m not looking to give any away. I’m looking for more of them. Can’t buy what I can’t find.

Bottom line is pattern availability of 6, 7 and 8 a’s isn’t SQUAT to what it use to be. Anyone throwing them long enough would know that.

I think the only Bomber that I had over 30+ years ago was a Water Dog.

I throw a lot of Bomber cranks. I love the Fat Free Shad and I catch a lot of fish on the Square A. I also have a good stash of Bomber 4A, 6A, and 7A cranks along with some Flat As and Deep Flat As. They aren't just collecting dust in my boxes either, those baits are all in my regular rotation.

I know what you are saying, but Bombers place today is certainly not that of the 70’s 80’s or even that of early 90’s. Patterns from that time are  non existent. These are not special patterns, bass patterns. Pretty basic stuff. There is no one or willing to bet very few on here using Bomber cranks more the me. And to all that can pull off getting them I’m glad for you. Very tuff find in my area. Tuff find for me to find what I’m after on line also. Looking for some duplicate  spare.

I like the bomber model A shallow crank bait.  Especially the chartreuse craw with black back.  The other craw colors are good.  I also like throwing the long A for pike as it’s fairly cheap. If it gets stolen I’m not out much. I use those with a more straight crank bait style retrieve.

The Bomber long A used to be the mainstay for Lake Michigan steel head trolling 8-10 miles out in the scum lines.  Grandpa had drawers full of them on the charter boat.

I’ve tried the 5A and 6A over and over again  and couldn’t buy a bite with them.

I have 4-5 3/4 fat free shad new in box that I’m waiting for my deep crank rod to be done that  I’m building
