Justbass11 Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Just out of curiosity , if you were to go bank fishing and had three rods to take with you, how would you rig them up??? Thanks for your input, ??? Quote
DaubsNU1 Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Most of the lakes I bank-fish in Nebraska are sandpits. I take the following: 6'6" spinning rod, 10lb braid to 8lb FL leader -- rigged with green pumpkin NED 7' baitcaster, 30lb braid -- texas rigged worm, or jig-n-craw 6'6" spinning rod, 10lb braid to 10lb FL leader with square-bill, rattle-trap, or Senko 1 Quote
Finessegenics Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Depends where I’m fishing. But for my style and the fishery i fish the most often, 1. MH/F baitcaster with 15# fluoro 2. M/F spinning rod with 15# braid to leader 3. ML/XF spinning rod with 10# braid to leader 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted March 22, 2022 Super User Posted March 22, 2022 The three rods I have designated for shore fishing are M/F Casting 12#YZH M/F Spinning 8#YZH ML/F Spinning 4#YZH Quote
Super User WRB Posted March 22, 2022 Super User Posted March 22, 2022 When I bank fish only take 1 rod because only fish with 1 rod and don’t want to set down a rod. This limits me to re tying when changing lures. The shore presentation I prefer are soft plastic worms 90% of the time so Keep It Simple Stupid. Tom 7 Quote
NoShoes Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 From the bank it’s one rod. I usually just pick what I’m fishing before I go and commit. Usually a Texas rig or frog setup. 1 Quote

HookInMouth Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 I only ever take one with me when I'm on the shore. Usually a MH/F. 1 Quote
EWREX Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 for bank fishing i'd go with 2 rods medium power spinning rod medium heavy power casting rod lure choices obviously depend on what time of year and what type of cover is off the bank Quote
Mat_ski Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 I’m a three rod kind of guy, but from a kayak. The three I take most often are: 6’10” ml fast spinning rod for finesse (ie. Ned) 6’6” m fast casting rod for jerks, shallow cranks and topwater 6’10” mh fast casting for jig, trigs and spinnerbaits But if I’m beating the bank I’ll take only one and which one is a coin toss. NavyToad Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 If I had 3 rods to take I’d leave 2 of them at home and take a 7’ MH baitcaster, 15# mono, and a small selection of lures/plastics. 1 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 22, 2022 Super User Posted March 22, 2022 These are the three rigs I use when I go pond hopping. MH/F baitcaster for bottom contact baits like jigs and t-rigs. MH/F baitcaster for moving baits like crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. M/F spinning rod for light weight, or weightless presentations. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted March 22, 2022 Super User Posted March 22, 2022 Generally when bank fishing setup is often something like a ned rig on a spinning rod and the other rod or two may be a spinnerbait, crankbait, jerkbait, topwater and/or a T-Rig. Quote
MidwestBassAttack Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 1) Spinning setup for finesse. 2) Casting setup with a versatile rod such as a NRX 873crr. 15-17lb fluorocarbon. 3) Casting setup with a heavier rod for frogs/flipping. 40-60lb braid. Notice how I left out a cranking setup. I hate cranking from the bank. Quote
hunterPRO1 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 fishing mostly gunky farm ponds. 7'mh/m 17lb mono and a square bill/lippless 7'mh/f with 17lb mono for jigs/trig worms 7'6 h/f and 50-65lb braid for frog/flip/punch in cleaner water id throw out the heavy rod for a spinning setup. Quote
Ashboom Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 My 3 rods are Dawia arid x mh/f spinning #10 braid Tfo professional 7' h/MF spinning (jig/t-rig rod) H2o legacy mh casting for all moving baits Quote
Super User ATA Posted December 28, 2022 Super User Posted December 28, 2022 When I go bank fishing I always bring my three cheap combos, There is always possibility of something going wrong. And here they are. 1-Dobyns Champion XP 610 H with Metanium DC reel. 2- 13 fishing 7'1" MH with 13 Z reel. 3A-Dobyns Champion XP 807 With Abu Toro Beast. or(Depending of what kind of fishing I am doing that day) 3B-Curado 805 with Curado DC reel. Super User DogBone_384 Posted December 28, 2022 Super User Posted December 28, 2022 I bring only one rod when I bank fish, but if I were to bring three, here's the list. Like @ATA, I leave my higher end stuff home. An Abu Garcia Veritas 7' M/F spinning. It'd be used for finesse, small cranks, and jerkbaits. An Abu Garcia Veritas 6'9" MH/F casting for small swimbaits, creatures, jigs, etc. A casting Abu Garcia Veritas Winch casting 7' M/M for treble hook baits. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted December 28, 2022 Global Moderator Posted December 28, 2022 One MH/F casting rod with a small bag of things to throw. Mike 1 Quote
jitterbug127 Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 I keep my 6'6" m/f spinning rod and 6'9" mh/f rods in my car just in case. These are both 2 piece, and would cover anything I'd throw from the bank. Mostly Crawls, tubes, neds. Quote
killobet Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 2 spinner for me 8lb braid to 5 lb floro leader ( whacky worm 3-4 inch) 8 lb braid to 6lb floro leader ( small plastic swimbait) Thats whats work on the lake I fish. Quote
