Tatula elite owners/users….how do you like them? Is the casting distance that much better?

Posted

I have an elite and an elite p/f. They are really nice for sure. They both cast like rockets, and are worth the $$$ over a regular 100.

I wouldn’t trade an SV for one though. Just preference.

Look and feel great. Out of all 300+ tatulas, I'd choose the elite.

Love my Elite as well. Furthest casting reel in my arsenal. At first I was skeptical as I was coming from a Tat 100, but first cast with the Elite I can feel the difference. As for distance vs other reels I have, I’d have to say it’s not a huge difference but I feel it’s more effortless to bomb the lure where I want it to.  Also have the Elite P/F as well, solid reel.

Love the Elite, cast as far as my Tatula Hlc Jdm but palms much better than the Hlc . As mentioned above distance can be subjective but it just lobs them out there . You won’t be disappointed. Compared to the Sv and P/F well the Elite I use for bombing where as the S/v P/f well mostly pitching , roll casts, skipping..My Tat 100 I use  for whatever .

Is this the one with the long cast spool?

Yes

if you the flush the spool bearings, polish the spool shaft and the inside of the pinion of the regular tatula 100, it will cast further than you would ever need a reel to cast.

I’m a Tatula guy but didn’t care for the Elites.  Had 3 and sold them and bought more 100’s and 150’s.  My favorite are the SV’s.

What was it that you didn’t like about the elite reels?

Just wasn’t impressed and felt it wasn’t worth the price.  I guess my expectations were too high.  The 2017 SVs at $150 and the Tatula 100 at $113 were way better value to me.

If you offered me the Elite and the SV at the same price, I would still go with the SV.  Just my preference.

Pretty good reels, they definitely add some yardage to my jerkbaits and smaller crankbaits.  I can guarantee I'm ticking bottom with a 3xd for a long way thanks to the Elite, and can get my jerkbaits of choice down deep where the bigs look to snack.

My favorite thing about this reel is how well it tosses light and heavy offerings way out there.
