That would have been me almost four years ago before I quit. Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, food, water, needle nose pliers, and a PFD. Went fishing one time without a cap in the boat. I won't make that mistake again. The top of my head was sunburned even though I still have quite a bit of hair. 6 Quote

We're working on it though. Lol Recently forgot my polarized sunglasses and quickly realized how reliant I am with them, I was miserable. Another item, fish grippers !!!! I was throwing jerkbaits and had to net even the little Bass in fear of burying a hook. What are some other items that if forgotten could sour the day ? A boat plug Lol 5 Quote

Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 19, 2022 Super User Posted March 19, 2022 My boga grip. It not only serves as a full proof scale but using it to immobilize all treble hooked fish prevents me from getting hooked. ? Second place goes to pliers & sunglasses goes for third. Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted March 19, 2022 Super User Posted March 19, 2022 Sunglasses...I've done it and its miserable. The other thing I'd hate to be without is a rod and reel...I'm not a hand liner! Quote
DinkDreams Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 I fish from the bank exclusively, so my list is a little different than a boat angler. Excluding tackle, in order of importance: 1. Polarized sunglasses-I will go back home to get them, I don’t care. It’s not worth going without them 2. Fishing Pliers-I’ve never personally been stuck by a hook bad enough to require amateur shore surgery, but the fear is enough. Again, I will go home or if I’m too far from home, I’ll buy a cheap pair of needle nose. It’s not worth getting a treble past the barb in your hand 3. Rubber boots-I have a pair of rubber boots from Huk I got on the cheap, and they’re great if you’re stuck to the bank and need to step out into the water a bit to grab a fish. Won’t necessarily turn around to get them but I’m always mad when I forget 4. Scale-again, I won’t go back home for it but it never fails, if you want to catch a PB go out without your scale to verify. It’s almost a guarantee. 1 Quote

I suppose I need a rod/reel and at least one Senko I always keep side cutters handy. I have had to use them to cut hooks to free a plug after someone got hooked. One time I had to cut a hook on a large plug that was still in the mouth of a very mad a 42" pike and my sons leg. 1 1 Quote

He was filming it and I hand landed the pike and laid it on the deck. It went ballistic and the next thing I realized my son and the pike were hooked to the same plug. 1 Quote

Luke Barnes Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Polarized glasses. I forgot mine one time and stopped at a gas station to buy some cheapies, because I would rather not fish than fish without polarized glasses. 15 hours ago, Deeare said: I’m sativa only while fishing. Indica is for post fishing time!! Agreed 100% here. Messed up one time and hit my wife's medication and wanted to sit and watch a bobber all day. But when i have sativa im good to go until i get hungry and didn't pack any snacks..... @Bass_Fishing_Socal same here. I would panic if I got to the water and my battery was dead or my tank was empty. Quote
Mbirdsley Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 Pliers. the Constitution of the great State of Michigan states that once an anglers forgets his/her pliers. The penalty is that a northern pike is going to grab your lure. It’s going to be a very bad day after that. 6 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted March 21, 2022 Super User Posted March 21, 2022 There are four things I can't go fishing without: rods, reels, line and lures. It's icing on the cake if I remember everything else like sunscreen, a scale, net, pair of pliers and remember to wear clothes. 1 Quote
