Jaderose Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Sunglasses, hat, sunblock, needlenose pliers, sidecutters, coffee, pipe/tobacco. I suppose I need a rod/reel and at least one Senko 1 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted March 18, 2022 Super User Posted March 18, 2022 I use mono line, so keep line clippers around my neck on a thin rope. Forgot to mention pfd, sun screen, and Channelock needle nose pliers. I've had the same needle nose pliers for at least 20 yrs.In hot weather I'm wearing a Magellen fishing shirt. Plenty of pockets, and good in the sun. I'll sweat a little in this shirt, but a slight breeze cools you off pretty quick. As I've gotten older I'm more worried about the sunburn on hot days. Coffee in the morning, then water. Plenty of it on hot days. 2 Quote

It's amazing to me that the Coastie Auxilary folks find the time to do boat safety checks, what with feeding the cats, Comic-Con, scale model building, and medieval reenactments.... 2 Quote

GReb Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Sunglasses and liquids are the only two that would make me put the boat back on the trailer but I’d just go in the bait shop at the ramp and buy some. 1 Quote
Junk Fisherman Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I didn't have sunscreen last weekend but thankfully it was only partly sunny. 2 tubes are in the boat now. I also keep a 20 oz bottle of water in my boat since once I forgot water on a hot day and I got very dehydrated. I keep 3 pairs of sunglasses in my boat- 2 Costas and cheap backups. Fluoro leader line and braid scissors, are things I have to have. I went in my kayak last summer and forgot leader line. After going through my leader line, I didn't catch another fish. Since I fish so much finesse and stand higher than most of you guys in bass boats, I wouldn't want to fish without a net. I have a folding BPS net that fits nicely in mu gunwale. Because my phone is old I need to bring my Anker battery. Listening to podcasts will drain my battery by about half day. 1 Quote

Super User WRB Posted March 18, 2022 Super User Posted March 18, 2022 When I had a boat it was fully stocked with at least 2 of everything personal items including hats, polarized sunglasses, needle nose pliers, line clippers, sun screen, rain gear, warm shirts, PFD’s, Water, lunch, knife, etc. The reason so if my partner forgot something I have a spare. Also kept on the engine shut lanyard a spare drain plug and keys. Saftey items like First Aide kit, tool box, fire extinguisher, Towels, TP and more tackle then anyone every needs. Now being a backseater I have a small tackle bag with necessities; needle nose plier, line cutters / clipper, sunglasses, sun screen, hat, Tangle Free, Megasrtike, spare spool of line, towel, TP and a small soft cooler bag with water, snacks and lunch. Tackle is down to 1 small bag with 4ea 3600 boxes, serval bags of soft plastics a pork rind jar, Spinning rod and 2 casting rods. Trying to figure out what is needed is a challenge after a life time of being a boater with everything. Tom 5 Quote
