Dobyns or Ark... Finesse casting rod any advise

So I'm looking for a fineese casting rod to use for 1/8 oz jig heads and small neds and other plastics.. anyone have any experience with the dobyns champion extreme 702c or the Ark reinforcer 7'1" medium  Or any other suggestions ? I'm currently using a Loomis e6x  7'1" medium xfast  with 8# floro

Yes they do...and they won't out-perform the tournament series.  Pay more if you want, but the Garcia is the performance winner in the rods listed.

Are you trying to say the tatula elite is better?  Have you ever actually USED a Veritas tournament edition?  I own both.  The Garcia is the better rod.  By far.

I'm a big fan of ARK rods, but for the techniques you mentioned. Phenix Feather 7'1" ML. Outstanding rod for light baits.

I have a Dobyns Champion Extreme HP 702C and use it for ned's and tubes mainly. Some light shakey heads. The sweet spot is around 1/16-1/4 oz weight. 

 

It is an awesome rod. Very sensitive with a good tip for casting accuracy. 

 

I have also expanded to using light crankbaits (shad rap 5-7, og tiny 4, small balsa) and 110 jr jerkbaits. It seems to work well with the lighter hard baits. The tip is fast but the medium/light helps a lot with trebles. 

 

I use a Daiwa SV light LTD on the rod.

Are you trying to say the tatula elite is better?  Have you ever actually USED a Veritas tournament edition?  I own both.  The Garcia is the better rod.  By far.

The fact that I own both and have used both recently, and you don't and haven't, means my opinion is more valid than yours.

again, that's your opinion and i have mine. my original statement was disagreeing with you saying there is no other rod comparison in the $170 price range which is false lol. i know you're right about everything all the time, but in this case you aren't

In the case of the tatula vs veritas TE, I am absolutely right.  The TE is the better rod.

 

I spent money on both.  You haven't.

 

You're the guy who who never drove a Toyota telling me why a Hyundai is better.

I wanted to like the Tatula rods. I've purchase quite a few of them over the last two years. 

 

However, the cork has come loose on 3 of mine now and makes a lot of noise while fishing. One was luckily replaced by the retailer, but the latest one to exhibit the issue is my 60th anniversary 7'3".  I've spoken to a well known rod repair shop recently that confirmed they have seen this more than a few times. Disappointing, as I do like the blanks.

They're not junk for sure.  I use mine for shallow finesse fishing or sight fishing.  Plus, I like natural cork grips a lot.

 

For deeper water where bottom contact lures like tr worms, etc require more sensitivity though, I'd reach for the TE every time.

Ok guys thanks for the input time to carry on lol...I'm probably going to go with the dobyns I wish g Loomis made a rod like it but o well time to try something different

Dont pay full price for a Dobyns rod unless you just have money  burning a hole in your pocket.

 

They are on sale regularly for 20-30% off. Just be patient and ready to purchase when you see the sales. I can't mention the site, but a certain 3 letter acronym will give you a discount if you e-mail them and ask nicely. I just got 24% off a champion xp.

I don't necessarily have money burning a hole in my pocket but can't wait too long
