One thing about fishermen, we’re not especially known for being great at socializing. I think one of the reasons some of us enjoy fishing is because it’s something we can do alone. I hope whatever was said to you was just someone being socially incompetent, and not something intentional.

I try not to step on toes, but it’s hard not to be taken the wrong way online sometimes. When I find myself getting upset over what someone online says or doesn’t say, that’s when I know I have to take a little time off.

Thanks for sharing, Tom.

Sticks and stones will break your bones but words will never hurt you. I was raised with that wisdom, but words do in fact hurt.

I application all the kind thoughts and support, will sleep on it and get over my cynical response, God bless.

Tom

God bless you too brother. Keep in mind, the VAST majority of us on here enjoy your posts, appreciate your insight, and love having you around. Don't give the naysayers a second thought. They don't deserve to occupy any space in your head or heart.

You're a walking bass fishing encyclopedia, and history archive.  If they don't want to listen and learn then that's their problem.

Best piece of advice I can give you is know who you are and learn to not care much what others say about you. I have had people talk garbage to me as well since I don't give out my best spots where I catch my biggest bass to random people on the internet. Yes I take close family and friends to these spots but not some random person who clearly wants to use me. Even if they find these spots it won't be enough since you still have to know what you are doing to catch these bass. Be proud of your accomplishments and make sure to have fun when you fish since having fun should be every fisherman's main goal while fishing.

Tom,

In every forum, there's people that just want to stir the pot.

Ignore them.

Tom,

Can’t really add to what’s already been said except just keep doing what you’ve been doing! Oh, there is one thing….THANKS!

I tend to look up to people older than me, they have so much wisdom, experience…stories!

My dad and I are best buds, he got me into fishing at a young age and I’m forever grateful. We are a lot alike and a bit different, and we bump heads more often than I’d like. As he ages, I can tell he has become more cynical, and more forgetful, haha! I guess, who can blame a person for becoming that way in time, I’m sure we all will. I’m tying to become more patient and understanding of his ways.

Tom, Everything I read from you on here I take to heart, and really listen. Thank you for all that you share will us.

Tom,  I remember a year or two ago you emailed me one of your big bass photos and said you no longer liked to post them. I figured that was the reason, and I appreciated the photo.

I'm a cynic too and it's hard, especially these days not to be.

Short answer is if I let someone get me upset or ruin my day, they win. Easier said than done sometimes.

Why should I care about an opinion from a person I don't even respect? It means zero to me, at least it should.

I hear you man, just letting you know as others have here that we think you're awesome.

Lol!  I know what you mean....look at all the heat I catch practically every time I post an opinion lol!

I'm not going anywhere either.  Most of the people here are really cool with a lot of good things to say, and I won't let the naysayers ruin it for me....you shouldn't either.
