ironbjorn Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 From my perspective the very vast majority of people here respect you and your thoughts as gospel. I've seen you get into one spat, I think, and it was just you misunderstanding what someone said. And that's the problem with the internet and communicating through text. It's easy to misunderstand, then the snide remarks happen, and then the blitz. 93% of human communication is something other than words. We're literally working with 7% of our communication skills as a species in places like this and when we text. 6 1 Quote
Linewinder Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Tom, there may be two types of people. Those who try, can and do, and those who drag down the others to make themselves feel better. Those of the latter type are the sissies. 2 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted March 15, 2022 Super User Posted March 15, 2022 Tom, so many folks here appreciate your comments, years of experience and insight regarding fishing. If some guys don't, ignore them. There's plenty of us around here that like and respect what what you have to say. 8 1 Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted March 15, 2022 Super User Posted March 15, 2022 Give me an address Tom. I'm sure they can be educated with little to no ..... shed.???? I as most here truly appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge with us. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 15, 2022 Super User Posted March 15, 2022 @WRB Tom, your reputation here as well as your bass fishing legacy, are untouchable. You enjoy superior support because you've earned it. Anyone offering anything else is drowning in their own insignificance. Please rest assured that you are respected and held in the highest regard. Super User Columbia Craw Posted March 15, 2022 Super User Posted March 15, 2022 I can honestly say Tom, you bring one of the most unique and refreshing perspectives about the sport and other life based outlooks I have seen. Getting older isn’t, at times all that much fun. Value yourself and what you offer up. I sure I do. 3 1 Quote
PaulVE64 Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 The problem with arguing over the internet with a forum troll is that they bring you down to their level of stupidity and beat you with experience. 1 Quote
NoShoes Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I’m very jealous of your catches, what angler wouldn’t be? I’m also very blessed you share so much of your knowledge so that others can have great catches of their own. I know I’ve learned a lot from you, I’m sure I’m not alone. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 15, 2022 Super User Posted March 15, 2022 @WRB Tom we are a different generation! Yes you & I have stepped on each other's toes, bumped elbows, & bruises egos but at the end of the day we respected each other. I have dealt with the same things over my thread about Toledo Bend. Before I found bassresource other website members wanted GPS coordinates to prove what I was talking about. They didn't get em! So I was slandered relentlessly. It's kinda like everyone saying "no pictures, it never happened!". Anyway don't get me off on that tangent! Tom remember what I answered when you asked me if I wanted some of you tackle? I don't want your tackle, I want your wisdom! There's a lot of knowledge on the world wide web, sadly there's little wisdom! Keep your chin up, stay strong, we got your back! I love you man! And no I don't want your Bud Light! Tommy T ? 14 1 3 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted March 15, 2022 Super User Posted March 15, 2022 A shallow person mostly talks about other people… A mediocre person talks mostly about things A wise person talks about ideas and solutions. I think we all know what category you fall into Tom. Your posts have always been some of the most helpful on the forums… even though you are so far away from me. Your lunker stories are legendary. You should write a book if you haven’t. We appreciate and love you Tom. 7 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 15, 2022 Super User Posted March 15, 2022 Tom at our age we don't have to defend our statements or actions because you have earned an exemption. You have always shared your wealth of fishing knowledge openly with all members on BR. Your fishing success has been well documented by articles, pictures & history. You have nothing left to prove. My only advice to you is not to allow your vulnerabilities to dominate your path going forward. You will always have the respect and support of this fishing community. You sir have earned it! 9 2 1 Quote

gunsinger Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Tom, FWIW, I find you to be one of the most knowledgeable members here. If you told me you caught a 35 lber, I'd ask what you caught it on. At my age (62), I feel like I've earned the right to state my piece and let others take from it what they will. At your age, well, respect is the word that comes to mind. 1 1 Quote
Jaderose Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 People on HERE are causing you grief? Good lord....You're a rock star here. You are old enough and experienced enough to know how good you are. That's not ego, just fact. A better way to look at it may be to realize that anyone that is causing you grief isn't worthy of having an opinion that matters to you. It would be like some 3rd string rookie giving Tom Brady a hard time...lol. "Whatever, kid" 3 1 Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I would really love it if Glenn would interview you. You’re not a book on bass fishing , you’re more like a library. 8 1 Quote
Fishingmickey Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Tom, I just wanted to add. I spent some time in Southern California in the late 70's to 81. I fished lake Casitas the week after the 21lber was caught there. That reminds me of you. I enjoy and greatly respect your sharing of knowledge and really like the gear I've bought from you!
