Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted September 25, 2022 Global Moderator Posted September 25, 2022 Wow. Heckuva win by Miami after punting it up their own blockers rear end Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 25, 2022 Author Super User Posted September 25, 2022 And the Titans sneaked it out at the end, too! Ouch! Kansas City goes down to the Colts. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted September 25, 2022 Super User Posted September 25, 2022 Man that game hurt. Not just the loss, but how many injuries!?! I see the Ravens being yet another either way game. Bills left several scores on the field, sadly. Mistakes. How bout the Colts!! Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 25, 2022 Super User Posted September 25, 2022 Lots of craziness today which is we all look forward to the NFL every year. Hurts needs to get rid of these slow starts though because against a good defense the Eagles could have been down 2 TD on pick sixes. All in all though he is maing me feel a lot better about him under center than I did at the end of last season. Quote

Super User gim Posted September 27, 2022 Super User Posted September 27, 2022 Apparently a bunch of players in the Bill-Dolphins and Packers-Bucs game had heat exhaustion yesterday because of the sweltering heat and humidity in Florida. Now I’m hearing that the Sunday night football game between KC and Tampa May be moved or post poned because Hurricane Ian is headed right for Tampa Bay. Quote

I watched some of the bills dolphins game and you could see steam when they showed the sidelines Quote
throttleplate Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Who is responsible for scheduling the games in the daytime heat? Isnt the NFL all about safety? Same with packers games in dec and january being prime time night games. No, its about the gate receipts in the florida sunshine and primetime commercial slot money for the ice bowl games in the midwest. Quote

They were in the middle of a heat wave and the on field temperature at kick off was 98 degrees. SoFi Stadium does not have air conditioning either. September humidity is nothing new for Florida, and December/January cold is nothing new in the north. Honestly I’d probably take bitter cold over sweltering heat if I was going to be playing full contact football with pads on. Quote

It’s pretty hard to stay cool playing football in the heat. A day game in Miami was pretty stupid. 2 Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted September 30, 2022 Global Moderator Posted September 30, 2022 I’m guessing Tua has a bit of a headache today. Not sure how he passed concussion protocol to even play last night. Quote

They shouldn’t have let him finish the game versus the bills if they were following protocol Quote

Didnt amazon sign a 10 year deal with nfl? I just looked it up. Its an 11 year deal and they paid $11 billion for that contract with the NFL. So essentially a billion dollars/season to have exclusive broadcasting rights. I am in the wrong business. One of my friends texted me today saying that you can watch it on Direct TV channel 9526 which is their "prime" channel. So a potential solution has been found. I'll give it a try next Thursday. Super User Choporoz Posted September 30, 2022 Super User Posted September 30, 2022 I spent a lot of years telling my boys to 'shake it off' and 'get back out there'....and I've taken a lot of shots at the NFL for getting soft. But, I have to admit that I was rethinking my thoughts lately. Especially after listening to Chris Nowinski (former WWE and now neuro-surgeon/concussion advocate) on the radio this morning (106.7 in DC) - https://www.audacy.com/thefandc/authors/the-sports-junkies click Chris Nowinski on 30 Sep --- this after listening to a podcast where Brandon Marshall and Shady McCoy just 3 days ago suggested Tua was probably a lot worse than Fins were going to acknowledge -- interesting conversations -- one doc puts it on the player (Tua) - says he needs to take himself out in the first game. (The former players said the radio doc is wrong because Tua couldn't even be expected to evaluate himself after getting dazed). Other doc says nearly everyone in position of authority in Miami org should be fired. I think NFL is likely going to get a lot more heat than they thought can handle *I should have properly credited the Marshall/McCoy conversation - If you're looking an interesting, smart sports podcast, give a listen to 'I Am Athlete' -- I don't like listening to 95% of most athletes - but I find this a fascinating listen 1 Quote

throttleplate Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 vpn and torrents work great for watching thursday games. I turned on espn this morning to catch the friday scores and there is no espn at the moment for Dish. Espn owned by disney is in contract talks with dish and according to the announcement disney wants mega $$$$$ more so they are holding dish subscribers and dish hostage. Thats fine if no espn i only watch it during breakfast. I will now go back to watching Hazel. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted October 3, 2022 Super User Posted October 3, 2022 Patriots 3rd string quarterback had a chance to pull off the unthinkable in Green Bay. Fell a little short, but a great game to watch. You knew Rodger's was pulling that one out though... 1 Quote
throttleplate Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 really strange to see rodgers face on closeups, he looks older than brett favre. To much fishing in the sun? 1 1 Quote
