Manning broke his neck. More methodical QB than Brady. I put Brady in the top 3 but not the top. I say a shoot out between Brady and Favre for the #2 spot

who you have at one?  For me it is Montana

Montana played under the Bill Walsh newly designed West cost offense and had a plethora of talent, Rice, Craig, Taylor and Rathman and a defense " Lott " .

Montana went to KC and failed to meet expectation.

A much older Brady went to Tampa and delivered....... give the man some love.

In my lifetime it's Manning or Favre leaning towards Manning

Everyone knew tampa was set up to win with any type of good QB which is exactly why he went there.  He's a great QB but that doesn't mean he wasn't the benefactor of the cheating in NE and preferential treatment by the refs.

Montana went to a team that was shut out in the wild card round to the conference championship at an older age when you were allowed to hit QB.  He was put through a ton more abuse over the years than Brady was and always came up big in the big games.

Really no use in arguing about who is the GOAT unless we have the parameters set lol.  What are we using as a measuring stick here?  MVPs, Super Bowls, touchdowns, yardage, durability, consistency?  All of them combined?  Dan Marino had a fairly ridiculous career with some eye popping stats but he never won a Super Bowl.  Even so, he's a first ballot hall of famer.

Even Eli Manning was never anything special during the course of most of his career other than those two ridiculous playoff runs to win the Super Bowl.  Where does that put him?  I wouldn't place him even in the conversation as one of the best, but he won two super bowls.  So does that place him higher than Marino?  Not in my eyes.  Aaron Rodgers has only won one Super Bowl, but his body of work overall is significantly better than Eli Manning.  I don't think there's a person out there that would say Eli is a better QB than Rodgers.

I'm a huge Joe Montana fan, and being from NYC hate everything Boston, and Bostonish, but one would have to bend yourself into a logic and statistic pretzel to argue that anyone who's ever played the QB position is even close to Brady (I feel nauseous), Oh yeah, we beat him twice in the Super Bowl, no Eli bashing allowed...

Eli? Was talking about Peyton

I'm fully ware.  He won 2 super bowls, just like his older brother did.  Which is exactly my point, clearly his career overall wasn't nearly as good as Peyton's but if the measure of greatness is Super Bowl wins, he's dead even.  Establish some parameters that we can measure on a stat sheet first otherwise its like saying a Ford is better than Chevy or a Ranger is better than a Skeeter.

Football isn’t baseball where numbers rule. Which never made sense to me when an hitter who does his job 1/4 of the time is considered “average” or one who does it 1/3 of time is considered an all time great in some circles!

Ridiculous

Football is totally different.
Yeah numbers mean something of course but a guy who plays 20+ years should have all the records.
Being the ultimate team sport nobody would last long and accumulate numbers without a dozen others doing thier job at a higher than average level.

Nobody can tell me that Farve is an all time top 10 QB.
Someone who holds the all time record for giving the ball to the other team doesn’t deserve to be compared to any of them.

Brady, Manning (Peyton), Montana, Marino, Brees, Elway, and even a few from different eras that played without the benefit of rules changes (Untias, Baugh, Graham etc. ) and yes even the latest QB from that team from Wisconsin has to be in the conversation fir what they accomplished.

The number of SB or championship TEAMS they were on is way down the list to be a consideration in that conversation.

But that’s me

The headband alone elevates this guy to my number 1.

You all go on and argue all day about number 2

The guy doesn’t have no where near the numbers, but if you add ability as a complete leader coupled with a bigger heart who played like a linebacker, he’d be above any of those guys

Besides, Ya Gotta love a guy who shoots the moon at a press helicopter!!

So you're saying Favre is on the same level as Tracker Boats?

Brady was a cheating bum and people forget that Manning had a winning record against Brady in the playoffs.

Right. Remember when manning was rehabbing from neck surgery and his wife had steroids delivered to their house..im sure that had nothing to do with his miraculous recovery.

Completely off topic, the steroid home run wars between Sosa and McGuire was the only time in history that baseball was entertaining

Hgh was delivered to his house, fact. He had what would normally be a career ending injury and recovered to play even better, after an age where players normally retire, fact. The hgh was addressed to his wife, fact. The only allegation is that he took it not his wife. Use some logic here.

QBs with rings will always trump those without, just the way it is.

Example: you never hear Jim Kelly's name mention and he's been to 4 SB's.

I’m surprised the first TB12 with four Super Bowl wins hasn’t been mentioned yet
