I was really disappointed when the St. Croix Victory rods were released they almost completely abandoned shorter rods besides the jerkbait casting rod and then the one model in the spinning.

The Victory was really for St, Croix.  ?

Companies are really hurting on sales & profit.  The rich always can afford higher prices.

Not really that surprising, the only lines that have 6' and 6'6 rods are Legend Elite and Premier.  Personally, I really liked their 6'2" casting rods and 6'3" spinning.

My muskie rod is 8 foot lol

They make some that are 9 feet long now.  Kinda ridiculous and may not even fit in some rod lockers either.

Fenwick offers several rod models in spinning and casting 6’-6’6”.

If you up the length 2” to 6’8” a wider choice of rods are available.

Look at crappie rods - some of those reach 14'.

Light jig rod (1/16-1/4oz) https://www.academy.com/p/b-n-m-bucks-14-l-freshwater-jig-pole?sku=14-black-medium-light

That particular one is 3 pieces.

I wasn't sure if we were worried about pieces.

Two of my crappie rods are 7' and 7'6" - both are 2-piece

All of my rods are 6'6" except for the 7'0" casting rod I use when I bomb the heavy baits out into the lake.

Sadly it seems seems so. 6’6” is the perfect all-around rod, sometimes I even prefer a 6’. I’ve tried the 7 footers for the past 10 years it seems but they’re just so cumbersome when fishing from the bank or especially wade fishing rivers. I have one right now but just makes the experience harder (loading/unloading from my car, not being able to cast some spots because of hitting limbs, they’re usually tip heavier, etc)

All in all, eff the fishing industry and its push to 7’+ rods lol
