There is ONLY one for me now, Vicious No Fade.

I haven't used the no fade but they make a great 4x

I've tried most of them and I think the best bang for the $ is X9 or X5.

I really like smackdown, but I've had some issues with it de sheathing.

Suffix 832

Power Pro

Fireline for L/UL spinning

Having gone through a lot of different brands of braid, I have developed a few opinions.

First, the more strands (carriers) the better.  You get less line digg-in and better distance.  Second, Sufix 832 has a strand of gore fiber that allows it to sink better.  Maybe that's useful to you, maybe not.  Third, some brands lose their color quicker than others.  I've noticed Power Pro holds it's color better than Sufix 832, for instance.  Though I tend to use braid for so long, that they all lose their color long before I replace them.  Fourth, the coated lines cast better initially and go longer before fraying, but the coating doesn't last long.  So most differences you'll experience right out of the box, fade away after a month or so of heavy fishing.

Other than that, I'm not convinced there are huge differences between brands.  My main questions are number of carriers, color, price, and to gore or not.

@WRB I'm interested in how the Fins lines, and this Sling Braid, hold up over time, especially the color and coating (?).  I need something these days other than a moss green to see against the green waters we have here, as a line watcher.  Thanks.

Fins braids don’t fade color or run color dye.

I use braid without a leader.

Hercules 8-strand no-fade.  I order it from Amazon.  Great stuff.

Can you PM me with more info on this line? If it's really no fade like the Vicious I'm using now at a fraction of the price I'd be really interested in trying it. Thanks

I am unsure how to pm you, but I can attest that it's 100% fade proof.  I've had the same spool of 20lb black on my Revo SX since last summer, and I can take a pic of it vs the new line still on the spool.

I didn't believe another user here when he was saying how good hercules line was bc of the low price, so I bought a spool.  It's every bit as good as he said it was.

The brown is more like a light khaki color instead of actual brown.  The colors on Amazon when you are picking are pretty much exactly spot on.

I use the dark green and black.

prices for 20lb no fade 8 carrier..I have em memorized lol

a 300yd spool is $15.13.  500yds is $18.77

1094yds is $27.53

Yeah I was just on there and the prices seem too good to actually be fade proof. I have no reason to not believe you though so I'm ordering a spool of 50lb and 60lb to try out. If it's anywhere near as fade proof as the Vicious stuff then I've been getting ripped off. Thanks a lot man.

After all these years, I'm still using Power pro.

Power Pro.  It is cheap, readily available, and performs as good or better than the higher priced braids I have tried over the years.

I put this line on roughly last may sometime.  It's been in the water at a minimum of 3 days a week every week since.  It still looks new.

It stands up to it's "100% no fade" label.  Plus, it's really good, smooth braid.

I've used it.  It's decent line for sure, but it's more expensive than Hercules plus it fades pretty quickly.

That picture would suggest it's better than my Vicious in the fade department!

I just ordered 2 spools. One in 60lb & 50lb in 547 yards each for the price of one Vicious 300 yard spool!

Lol!  I was highly skeptical too of what was being said about it...sounded too good to be true, but nope...he was accurate.

I was happy to eat my words on this one for sure lol

From what I understand, it's mostly saltwater guys that use it.  I bought a bunch of it after that first spool, but I haven't opened any of them yet bc it's holding up so well.

If this stuff is even comparable to what I'm using now I'm going to owe you big time for putting me on to it!

I might stock up heavily on it because companies are known to go make changes and screw a good product up(cough, KastKing braid).
