So i'm doing i've been doing somes ressearch about lure to buy for striped bass (new to this species)
Here a list of stuff i want to buy for my next trip to do striped bass fishing hopefully they are all good : *Most lure will be about 5-6 inch in size
-Daiwa Salt Pro Minnow (People call those SP Minnow i think) (Green Mackerel, Bone color)
-Yo-Zuri Hydro Minnow (Pearl red head, Green Mackerel color)

-Yo-Zuri Mag Darter (Bone, Ghost Black, Mullet color)

-Rapala X-Rap (Silver Blue Mackerel color)

-Stainless Split Ring (Size 4)

-Inline Single Hook (Size 2/0 and 3/0)

-Split ring plier

At this moment the only website that have MOST of those item is TackleDirect but is this website legit? (I'm from Canada)
If you have any lure to recommend feel free to share it
PS: I'm buying the single inline hook because its illegal to use treble hook for striped bass fishing here and single hook is way easier to catch and release

Thank you guys for the help!

Depends on where and when you will be fishing. Most of the lures you mentioned are good, but may or may not be what you want at a particular time and place. Some jig heads and plastics are always a good idea, as can be metal lures, again, depends.

Well, on my best trip I was the "net boy". I caught the first striper before my buddy

went 19 in a row! His fish were all +/- 20 lbs, my single bite weighed 28 lbs. Personal

Best is 48lbs.

I have been fishing The Rig for more than a decade. I have never caught a double

or a single fish on the outside arms. I generally rig small swimbaits or Menace

on the outside and a Johnson Silver Spoon in the middle.

Sounds like fun, 48 lbs is a good one. We used to troll "A-rigs" in Montauk, wasn't unusual to have multiple striped bass, and bluefish on one as we ran all baits, no teasers.

We generally troll The Rig on the Tennessee River, but this particular day we were on

top of them. I guess my first fish "found them", then my partner caught all of his casting.

The bite was a frenzy until it stopped. That's when my buddy put down his rod and

said "I'm done, it's your turn."  Thanks a lot.

Not sure if you're fishing from shore or boat but all the lures you listed are good as well as the advice posted above.

Tubes from a boat tipped with plastic or real sea worms trolled are very effective.

I'm a big bucktail jig fan tipped with an Otter tail jig strip or Fat Cow jig strip. can be used for shore casting, vertical jigging and trolled.

I've gotten quite a few things from TackleDirect and have been really happy with their customer service, selection and "on-sale" items. Can't go wrong with TD

I only fish The Rig from a boat. Otherwise, I think you're one and done.

That's striped bass fishing in a nutshell.

Wished they made 'em like they used to. The otter tail jig strips are pretty good. I couldn't find what I wanted, but that was back around the beginning of December, so I bought Fat Cow for this season. I heard they had pretty good action.

I'm toying with the idea of tying in rabbit strips (zonker). I used Zonkers on spinnerbaits in the past. Matter of fact, it caught my PB 8+ with it.

Oh good, you had me worried... :)

Yeah, I've used spinnerbaits for them and caught with it, but they don't really add anything over other things.

I can't offer any advice on your lure choices. Tackle Direct is a legit company. I have ordered from them and customer service was very good. The only reason I don't order from them now is they seem to be geared more towards salt water fishing. They don't have a lot of what I use for bass fishing.

I've honestly haven't used Fat Cow yet, I couldn't find Otter Tail so I picked up Fat Cow for this season at a decent price at the beginning of the winter.

If they're anything like Otter Tail, then they are pretty durable.

You shouldn't have problems with stripers chewing them up as easily as bluefish will. Bluefish have teeth like pike. I fish in Southern Main and blues haven't made a presence for years until last season. Where you planning on fishing?

Well I got skunked on striper again today so don’t do all the things I did. My buddies that catch them use big flukes on jigheads

Those are all diving plugs. I would recommend some top water plugs as well; poppers, walkbaits, pencil poppers.

For surf, 1/2oz to 1oz white bucktail and 4-5” grub trailer. Grub on a jighead catches fish under the widest range of conditions that I’ve experienced.

I learned to fish river smallies using a grub and a 5” berkley black/chartreuse curltail worm and it’s a confidence bait for me.
