JeffD Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 I have a guy that wants a rod built that he can pitch and skip 1/2 oz. jigs. Any blank recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Quote
spoonplugger1 Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Pitchin rods and skipping rods together in one bĺank is pretty rare. I find a softer XF tip to be advantageous for skipping. One would be the Point Blank PB691MHXF, the United Composites UW 70MHXF worm rod blank if he needs additional durability, but my choice would be the NFC MB 705-1 HM. Quote
JeffD Posted March 13, 2022 Author Posted March 13, 2022 That's why I was asking the question. I'm kinda lost as to what would be good for that combo. Thanks for the suggestion. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 You can pitch cast with every rod in your arsenal. If you feel you need a particular length, power, action to get the accuracy and lure speed to skip well just follow that path. Quote
Chris Catignani Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 On my personal pitching stick (MH) is 5'11 from the tip to the reel seat and from there it ends up being 7'2". My body height is 5'11. So I needed to be able to make a pitch with out the rod being in the water (fishing from a boat). Of all the custom rods where you need to gather data...pitching is one of them. Quote
