Super User Munkin Posted March 11, 2022 Super User Posted March 11, 2022 So, I picked up some Jakal rearrange jerkbaits to try out. Generally I have stopped just buying new baits to try but jerkbaits have always been my weakness. First cast of one I thought either I broke my rod or the line snapped? The weight transfer system in these makes a loud crack when casting that sounds like a rod breaking. I have never heard a bait so loud on a cast and it really messed me up for awhile thinking something is wrong. Anyone else tried these yet and have an opinion of them? Allen Quote
Dvo509 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Completely normal sound when casting. It always trips out my buddies when I start throwing it. It’s a complete trash Jerkbait. No need to ever bring it up again? 2 Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted March 11, 2022 Super User Posted March 11, 2022 I know folks catch a lot of fish on them but the provoke and shadow raps have far out produced the ReRange for me. Their little squad minnow has worked for me just little luck on the ReRange so far. I do hate the weight transfer system because I have to store rods on deck in vertical holders and I always think I have hit one with the jerkbait. Quote
padon Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 the sound is normal. once you get used to it i like it.lol makes me know i got a good cast going. the bait itself is fantastic. my choice most of the time when the water hits 55 plus. Quote

Interesting, that's the temp when I start putting the JBs down. I don't think we are quite there yet here, and the square bill, chatter, and spinnerbait are getting bit better than the JB already. Don't get me wrong, situationally the JB can be a year round lure, and I feel naked if I don't have at least one Long A with me. Quote
EWREX Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 great jerkbait. when i first started throwing them i thought i was smacking the lure on something every time on my back swing because of the weight system LOL Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 11, 2022 Super User Posted March 11, 2022 I have been using them since they came out. I'm a sucker for new baits especially jerks. The crack when casting does get my attention first time I cast it even though I know it's coming. It's a great bait to give to a fishing buddy just to watch their reaction. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted March 11, 2022 Super User Posted March 11, 2022 It disrupts my concentration, consequently I've stopped throwing it... oe Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 11, 2022 Global Moderator Posted March 11, 2022 I had one of the larger ones and never caught a fish with it. Just ordered one of the 110 sized ones in their new pearl/chart back color because that's a killer smallmouth color here and I'm hoping that will do the same. The Duo Rozante 77sp makes a similar, though not as loud, clack when casted and it does catch you off guard at first. 1 Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted March 13, 2022 Super User Posted March 13, 2022 LOL, I could have swore I was hitting something when I first started throwing them. 1 Quote

I like jerkbaits in warm water also and it's pretty similar retrieve. Jerkbait retrieve with no pauses and very aggressive snaps. I also prefer to go either small or large on the baits, the 100-110 sized baits don't seem to work as well. 2 Quote
