Unk Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Every now and then you'll see one of these questions and have to scratch your head and think "how could he not know that" (or some less polite thought). Do hollow body swim baits float ? The name would suggest they do but I've never tried one and all my searches have never come up with a statement that they actually do or do not float. I know the Zman baits and some Strike Kings will float and would work for what I want to try but I'm curious about the hollow bodies. Thanks. 1 Quote

Super User WRB Posted March 6, 2022 Super User Posted March 6, 2022 Basstrix was the 1st paddle tail hollow body swimbait and they float without a weighted hook. Tom Quote

I had assumed a "hollow body" would float depending on the cavity size . But, then I stopped by Scottsboro Tackle (who definitely make hollow body baits and carry Basstrix) and the gentleman looked at me like I was crazy when I said I was looking for a small swimbait that would float . Made me wonder if my assumption was wrong . Thanks again . 1 Quote

Have thought about the swimming worm as you suggest but wanted to try a floating paddle tail with a mojo rig. Thanks again. Sounds like a worthwhile experiment to me. Hope we get to hear about the successes. scott 1 Quote
