CFFF 1.5 Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I want to use two depth finders on my boat and want to know if I am going to run into trouble with the frequencies. I have a Humminbird 565 on the console and I want to put either a 525 or 535 on the bow. If I run them simultaneously will I get interference on the units. Both will most likely be hooked to the same battery but may run the bow unit to the trolling motor battery. I want to be able to see the depth and temp on the bow and have my partner be able to see the depth and temp on the console. Thanks. Operating Frequency ............ 200 kHz Single Beam (515, 525 and 535) 200 kHz and 83 kHz Dual Beam (565 only) 200 kHz/83 kHz/455 kHz QuadraBeam PLUS (575 only) Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted April 28, 2010 Super User Posted April 28, 2010 You should have no problem with interference as long as you hook both to the cranking battery. Do not run the wires parallel and together. you will more than likely have interference if you hook one to the trolling motor battery. Stay away from that. If you have a good cranking battery you will have no problem running both units all day without running that battery down. I leave all three of my units on contioniously from start to finish with no problem. I run the wires down the same side of the boat with no problem. Question: Is that the unit I sold you a while back? If so, glad to see it is still doing a good job for you. I never had a minutes trouble with it. Jack Quote

Jack Currently I run my console unit to a fused power block under the console. Will it be ok to run the bow unit from the powerblock if I use a different fuse than the current one? Quote
wormdirt Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 could u run them both to the same transducer? i dont know much about installing depth finders but that seems like it would be a good option if at all possible Quote
NBR Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I run Eagles on the bow and console with no trouble both get power from the cranking battery. This is from what I've heard not my experience since I've never my sounders set up off the TM batteries. Running sounders off the TM batteries can cause interference. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted April 29, 2010 Super User Posted April 29, 2010 Running multiple sonar units with the same frequency transducers may and probably will have cross talk when the cone signals overlap. Probably won't happen in shallow water but may in deeper water. Quote
