somehow my local tackle shop got their hands on some of the new expride b rods. so ofcourse i had to go check them out. they are SWEET. the monocoque handle makes them lighter, guides are the same cosmetics are similar but they are more of a matte finish. i had to have the 7foot 2 inch medium light spinning rod. the action is a little stouter than the previous 610 but definetly lighter than the 7foot medium. for me it should be a great drop shot rod . light enough to handle light line and small hooks but with enough backbone to set the hook on a texas rigged roboworm.would i trade in my older exprides to replace them with new ones? no not that big of a difference . but for the price man are they hard to beat.

Waiting for them to stock, as I want the 711 extra heavy for a flipping stick.  Thanks for sharing.

My mistake, thanks for catching it. I was looking at the “A” model earlier today. Just checked the “A” series and TW still has the 7’11” but since sold out the 8’ rods

I would buy the A series in a heartbeat if I needed one! My favorite line of rods, and I have owned the Poison Adrenas.

Thinking about getting the 7'2 H for pitching jigs. 3/8-1/2 oz. Thoughts?

It all depends on what you're pitching into? For docks and scattered cover up to 1/2oz the MH/F version is perfect. Anything over 1/2oz or in heavier cover than the Heavy really shines.

Mine will mainly be used for rage toads and big 12" + worms.

I suppose it's personal preference, too. I really didn't care for pitching jigs into sparse cover/docks with my 7'2 MH Expride's. Tho I do like them for T-rigs (under 3/8 oz). That's why I was wondering if the H would be a better option for me. Not that I need another jig rod, but I'm looking for a reason to get one of the new models. ;)

I find the heavy a little stiff for anything under 1/2oz. But it is indeed personal preference. And you could always sell an older rod to make a little room for a newer model. ?

I have last year's baitcaster model in a 7' 2" MH.

By far it is my favorite rod of all time. It's not even close.

I have four of the Expride A but never did pull the trigger on the 7'2" glass even though I'm a big chatterbait guy. The new 7' medium glass intrigues me. Should it be able to handle a 1/2oz jackhammer and trailer, or is that asking too much?

I feel like it would be great for 3/8oz jackhammers and the 3/8 - 1/2oz Mini Max but I still need to be able to throw the full-size stuff.

I just grabbed the 7'3 XH. Had the 7'2H in my hands as well. For me this is for my frog rod and well as flipping a jig in the grass this summer. It was a tough tough choice for me, but the guys at Tacticalbassin swear by the 7'3 XH for froggin so I went that way. This is my first real "nice" rod and oh my gosh it sure is purdy! I can't even really believe it's an XH with how light it is. I'm absolutely dying to try it out but where I live the season doesn't open until mid June. Not really sure how I'm going to last that long!

Do the expride b casting rods have the same cork handle length as the previous gen?

Most of them do. My 711XH is maybe an inch longer. I suppose it's for balancing reasons.

Also, the cork looks to be slightly better quality.... to me anyways.

Anyone know if Expride B are made in China?

Yes they are. Even their top of the line Poison Adrenas are as well.

The 711XH lost almost a 1/2oz from the A model.

Thanks for confirming that. So disappointing and unnecessary...

Still no hook holder?

Yes they have a tiny one right at the bottom of the cork handle in the exact spot as the Zodias. I would rather it not have one as I like the Fuji ones better anyhow.
