Bigbassgrubslayer Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 I've always loved cotton cordell bass baits and had great success on them. I was in Walmart the other day and picked up a couple of a lure that I've never seen before. I can't find it anywhere on the internet either. I like the thin flatsided profile. Can anyone tell me if they've used or catch fish on the lure in the photo. Thanks, Landon 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 4, 2022 Global Moderator Posted March 4, 2022 Looks very much like the old storm thin fin. Cast terrible but they do catch fish. 6 1 Quote

They were all but impossible to cast in the wind which made them nearly useless here in Kansas.? I remember catching quite a few white bass with them though. Tom 1 Quote

Super User Spankey Posted March 5, 2022 Super User Posted March 5, 2022 The Big O has always been a good smallie catcher on the river. Pretty productive for about as basic of a lure out there. 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted March 5, 2022 Super User Posted March 5, 2022 Cordell super spot is tied with the red eye shad as my favorite lipless. Its got very limited color options and comes with junk hardware...oh the other thing about it? Bass knock the crap out of it. 2 Quote

I find ripping it then pausing as it floats back up then rip it again. It seemed to get bit after the pause but right before i would rip it. It was an odd retrieve like a floating jerkbait. It has insane action. That wobble is like a storm wiggle wart but its somewhat a floating super thin crankbait at the same time. I use 8lb test. Definitely floro! Idk its a lure you have to experiment with but it catches bass... or did lol. Hope this helps man. Good luck!! Quote
suzuki2903 Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 Picked up a bunch of these at Walmart recently. They have them usually in the bargain bin . Change out the hooks and good to go Quote
Bazoo Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 I just became aware of this, and purchased one at Walmart. Mine sinks; mention was made of them floating... are they supported to sink or float? Quote
