This is the first BASS coverage i've watched in a while. Not really impressed with the coverage so far, especially compared to MLF. I wish they'd show more coverage.

That being said I think this is going to be a good tournament. I fished on Hartwell yesterday evening and caught a few really nice spots out deep. Kinda obvious but the deciding factor is going to be who can get a couple nice largemouth bites.

Hackney with a good one!!

He mean mugged it and jammed it in the livewell.  hahahaha

Wow, definitely firing some shots at MLF with these commercials. Wish we could just enjoy both.

just like how MLF gloats about how their format is so much more superior every 5 minutes on their broadcasts?

I been listening all morning, I haven’t the foggiest what you are referring to.

Specifically the one with Swindle, Palaniuk and the other MLF cast aways talking about why they left to come back to BASS.

Whatever though, i'm not trying to start a flame war between the two on here, that's been done several times. I enjoy watching both formats.

I have both screens up. Watching both. Wheeler's out of sight. Wesley Strader just missed a fish and blew a gasket.

I like one format and don’t like the other. And that’s ok. Some people like sour cream and some people don’t

I will die on this hill.

I like the 5 fish format, but wish BASS would move to a catch-weigh-release format.

I’d rather see them all weighed on a single scale, lots of these 5 fish tourneys are very close. And it’s been proven since the 70s that livewell and release doesn’t destroy a fishery

Strictly from a competitors stand point, the MLF format knowing what everyone else has, fishing to the last second puts a lot more pressure and I like that. The drama at the cut line is always a crazy nail biter.

From a fans stand point, nothing like the drama of a five fish weigh in

Did you see when Edwin Evers won Redcrest ? the largest event in MLF?

He got to celebrate with his marshal and a camera guy

And did you see when Ott Defoe won the Classic? largest event in BASS?

He got to celebrate with his entire family in an arena full of people with confetti raining down

not that i don't trust the weight marshalls at all times, but i don't trust the weight marshalls at all times.

I don't see why a bunch of professionally certified ElectroSamson scales wouldn't be accurate, but I definitely get your perspective here.

with that type of money on the line i want a single stationary scale weighing in the fish instead of some 76 year old local on each boat. just my opinion though

I think they are very accurate but they are all different units and all floating on different boats

sometimes the anglers request  a re weigh and it’s different on the second try

Strader always seems to get caught on camera missing a fish and getting pi55ed.
