StandOut Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 What really is the best action ?????????????? Ok guys,, let's see lure presentations,, perhaps you know of some web site that shows their lure's action,, maybe a you tube video, let's compare, let's see if we can get those actions,, for most lures, it's in the retrieve and, or rod tip,, few lures (some of them do) give their best action with a steady retrieve, so it takes practice to get the best action out of every lure you throw, on any rig you use. To get more bass to hit, you must get the best action from your presentation for the conditions,, and the mood of the bass. Here is my submittal a You tube Video It's more than y'all have seen from my web site. I want to see more videos of lures working,, all lures, on any rig, cranks, softs, spinners, what ever This could be fun, and very educational, how do we know the right action to put on that new crank bait we bought, we need to see it working the way it should, then we will know what we must do to get it to do it Quote
Stringjam Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 It's a very cool idea - - wish I had a digivideo cam. Quote

Super User Marty Posted August 12, 2007 Super User Posted August 12, 2007 First, let me say that I didn't watch any of the videos. What really is the best action ?????????????? There is no answer, other than the smart-alecky one that the best action is the one that the fish will respond to at any given time. You sort of answered your own question when you referred to the mood of the fish. At any given time, fish might respond to different actions than at other times. You can look at your lure or test it in a pool, or whatever, and decide what looks like the liveliest, or best, to you, but that's not necessarily what the fish is looking for. Quote
