NoShoes Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 Tried searching but haven’t turned up anything. Anyone have any experience with elaztech and the Flambeau Z rust cups? I got the crank bank to store frogs and have a couple spro flapping frogs that use that elaztech crap you’re not supposed to mix with other frogs. 1). Will the elaztech eat the cup? 2). If no, think the cup is adequate separation? Quote
Super User Bankc Posted March 1, 2022 Super User Posted March 1, 2022 I haven't used one, but I'd think they should be fine. Just make sure they're not in the same container. As long as the gasses coming out of them have to circulate with the normal air around them first, they usually can't build up enough to cause a problem. And most modern plastic storage boxes (I've only used Plano and Pascifun), don't have issues with Elaztech. So it's kind of one of those things that you want to watch out for, but not one of those things where you have to go to extreme measures. I've kept my Elaztechs in a regular 3600 box stored right next to another 3600 box full of plastisol baits in a zipped up tackle bag, and nothing ever happened. Quote
NoShoes Posted March 1, 2022 Author Posted March 1, 2022 I’ve had both experiences where nothing has happened and I’ve also had the elaztech warp my planos. Just a very PITA material 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted March 1, 2022 Super User Posted March 1, 2022 On the advice of a Zman tech I bought some Flambeau boxes, not the BPS and Cabelas kind, directly from the company. Elaztech still warps them but not like it did the pvc boxes. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted March 1, 2022 Super User Posted March 1, 2022 Elaztech is great stuff but a strangely behaved compound. I've found nothing consistent about it..... sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. If you leave it out of it's pack it may turn into Chucky. 1 1 Quote
purpurite Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 i really like elaztech baits but i hate storing them. they have warped or distorted every container i have had them in, including BUZBE cases. i don't usually keep baits in the bags that they come in preferring to box everything, but for my Z-man stuff i leave it all in the original zip bags and use the plano 1-compartment boxes to store them all. it's the least offensive solution to my OCD organization issues. 1 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted March 1, 2022 Super User Posted March 1, 2022 I leave the Z-man stuff in the packs they come in. I have a Plano Guide series Worm Wrap that I place the packs in for traveling. No worries about melting or warped boxes this way. Quote
NoShoes Posted March 1, 2022 Author Posted March 1, 2022 Well it’s not really z man. I believe the flapping frogs legs are the elaztech material. Not really a package to keep them in. Quote
