My taste came back today. From what I’ve heard, Im fortunate. I try not to take life too seriously all the time, but not tasting a good, tasty meal is pretty serious in my book.

Im coughing up a bunch of phlegm but there seems to be a big supply left down there, otherwise feeling better overall.

Thanks again for the advice and concerns…

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Hope y’all stay safe and continue to fee better.

Edit: Oops I see you're better now! Great news!

Definitely a symptom of Covid.

I know a woman who lost her sense of taste and smell 14 months ago due to Covid. She to this day tastes and smells nothing and it makes it very difficult to cook. She can't even tell if food is rotten sometimes.

Her doctors said she could possibly do something about it when it first started but she refused to go, I don't know why. She's the 55 year old mother of a gal I work with.

It has also messed with her short term memory, like she will ask the same question 5 times in 10 minutes. Sucks. There was no vaccine when she got it.

I don't know what treatment could have helped, ask a doctor about it maybe.

Before my Grandfather died of cancer in 2012, he lost his sense of taste because the radiation chemotherapy he was taking killed his taste buds.  He used to drink coffee everyday but he couldn't taste it anymore so he started drinking chicken and beef bullion instead.  Its so d**n salty but he said it was the only beverage he could taste anymore.  I tried some of it once and it was disgusting.  BARF

I am happy to hear you are doing better. This virus is much more serious and unpredictable than what most people think. There are people who are extremely fit and get hit hard and others who are couch potatoes and nothing happens to them. We all should all be grateful to be alive +2 years in the worst pandemic in history if you take into consideration how advanced Medicine has become and yet the virus keeps on mutating and getting stronger. The victims of the 1918 flu did not have the Medical care we have today yet more people have died from this virus in the USA than they did in the 1918 flu. I hope you have a full recovery and that you catch lots of big bass this year.

I am feeling better this morning than I have in a week. Cough is now almost gone . I started a new Blood pressure medicine this week that doesn’t make me cough either. I feel really rested. Took a day off, so plan on some fishing later.

Yeah, this virus is the strangest in my lifetime.. It’s definitely one of the worst. I do think a lot of the counted deaths were not from the virus. Just my opinion.

My best friend died from delta in september. ( On my birthday ).His death in many ways has been harder to take than my parents. Both of them were very old, so it was expected. With Arthur, we all were confident he would make it but he didn’t. Other than my dad , he was the best man I ever knew. One friend that was there for me regardless of the circumstances . I tried to be the same for him. We had a lot  in common. Our Faith, Family, and friends. Both of us had daughters that struggled with addictions. Never any judging, just understanding and concern. Life is really strange without him around. And he didn’t even fish!

Im feeling your sorrow Mike. I lost my brother 2 weeks ago and my close friend a month ago. Life must go on because that’s what they would want just like what we would want if it was us. Your BR family is with you.
