My bottom-contact setup has 70yds 15# Tatsu over 10# Big Game backing. The Tatsu was gifted to me by a generous member here - if it wasn't Tatsu, it'd be InvizX which I have on two other setups...my budget doesn't allow me to purchase Tatsu. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 28, 2022 Global Moderator Posted February 28, 2022 For a purely bottom contact bait rod, Tatsu would get my vote. 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 28, 2022 Super User Posted February 28, 2022 Tatsu has been the best for me so far. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 28, 2022 Super User Posted February 28, 2022 Tatsu is my default answer. What type of setup? 1 Quote
InfantryMP Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 I think it really depends on what your using it for. I typically use the Red Label because of the cost factor, and I re-spool at least a couple times a year. I also like Suffix Advanced. If I were using FC in heavy cover, then I may use something with better abrasion qualities, but I have never had issues with the Red Label and it saves me money, but again I think it depends on what your doing with it. 2 Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted February 28, 2022 Super User Posted February 28, 2022 For 100% bottom contact, I prefer Shooter over Tatsu. For more general stuff it’s either Tatsu or Sniper, whichever I can find on sale when it’s time to restock. 1 Quote
KP Duty Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 I would say it depends on your intended purpose for the setup. For moving baits, I want a softer, easier casting fluorocarbon. For bottom contact baits, I want less stretch and more sensitivity, which you get with stiffer fluoros (unfortunately). Each brand seems to offer both. 1 Quote

Mostly for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits…durability is a bit of a concern so I’ve thoughts about abrazx too Quote

Moving Baits. I use 40# Sufix 832 for my moving baits. FC is used for bottom contact - jigs, T-Rigs, etc. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 28, 2022 Global Moderator Posted February 28, 2022 IMO, you'll be wasting money on flouro for those uses. Get a good mono or copolymer like Sufix Advanced or Yo-Zuri Hybrid and you'll be much happier. 3 Quote

It's pretty thick, downsizing 1 size smaller than what you'd typically use seemed to help. Quote

MidwestBassAttack Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 Not a fan of Tatsu at all. Way too soft for my liking. P-Line tactical is my line of choice. Great sensitivity, great abrasion resistance, great knot strength (so long as they are tied correctly). 1 Quote
