Hello ?

Im looking to upgrade my terminal tackle boxes (3700). I have a terminal tackle box already but it’s not enogh I need to start another one. I want to find a tackle box (3700) that has lots of dividers. I’ve come across these two I don’t want to pay Bass Mafia Coffin Bait at $32. Also seen they had a 2.0 which I read reviews and said it was junk plastic was flimsy. Then I stumbled on Plano Waterproof StowAway 3700 (Model #374010) box that can hold 4-24 dividers available on Amazon for $10

If anyone owns a Plano Waterproof StowAway 3700 (Model #374010)how good would it be to use for terminal tackle? Is it similar to Bass Mafia Bait Coffin?

The Bass Mafia Bait Coffin is too much money ($30+) what’s another box that’s cheaper and similar to the coffin (if the Plano isn’t your choice)?

Thanks all.

What I used to start was the BPS-370 box - Up to 48 compartments...but a bit deep for digging small weights (1/16oz tungsten) out of.

Then I took a Plano 3701, used a soldering iron and heat-sealed dividers midway between the regular slots - I left a few long for things like wacky-ring tool, but you can get up to 66 compartments doing that.

Never thought of soldering and heat-sealed dividers. So you like the Plano 3701 box? I’ll take a look at it.

You can take that Bass Mafia box and expand to hold most if not all your terminal tackle.  Below is a pic of mine.  You can get the small plastic bags from Hobby Lobby (100 or so for a few dollars) and I add a rectangle of card stock paper to the bag to keep it’s form.  I probably have 200 different items in that 1 box.  I also labeled the slots though I know where everything is now.

That’s pretty remarkable how you did that. I don’t really need 200 different items in one box but I do like your concept. There has to be an alternative box to the coffin that doesn’t cost $32

I looked at the Plano Waterproof StowAway 3700 boxes a few days ago at a local store. They were $17.99. I passed and bought a different 3700 size box.

For $10.24 they are a good deal.

I’m sure there is.  I chose the coffin because those bags fit perfect and I could adjust the slots to fit my needs.  FYI…this is what the bags look like:

Yeah I see them for $10 on Amazon and it’s really got me thinking. I just won’t how they compare to bass mafia coffin. They to me look similar.

That is nice. I like when others organize and make a box work for what they need. Really going to store hooks in it. I would jump on Bass Mafia if the price wasn’t over $30. I’ve watched videos of how good it is.

I like the Plano 3700, but not for terminal.  I use the H20 Express and the G Box for terminal.  The express is on sale for 14.99 right now.

Yeah it’s looks good for weights and hooks for all terminal but I only need a box for hooks. I ordered the plano on Amazon in my photos.

I've had countless latches break/crack on the plano waterproof stowaway. I've been using the bass mafia coffin for years now for terminal tackle without a single issue. It's been bouncing around in my boat for roughly 5 years and is still perfect.  Holds an absurd amount of terminal tackle. I like the plano edge alot but don't use them for terminal but I would if the coffin didn't work out.

I do think same way about bass mafia but I’ve owned Plano boxes my whole life I haven’t had any lose latches. Mine have bounced around too from time

to time. Haven’t had issues with Plano. I see box boxes looking fairly identical. The build of the box might be better on coffin. I don’t know. I got the Waterproof StowAway the price is good and I haven’t had issues with Plano. I do like bass coffin it ever dropped in price would think about it.

Have you looked at the Plano edge 3700? Similar but different than the bass mafia box.

Yes I have! They look amazing but likewise the price is high. I’m okay with the cheaper end Plano boxes. If you take care of them they’ll last a long time. I’ve had some of my Plano boxes for over 10 years.

I have and it looks good. This will prob be my resort if the Stowaway doesn’t work but I think it will for what I need done.

Can you walk me through the soldering iron heat seal trick? Think I'd just burn holes in the tray.

Heat the soldering iron up, hold the divider where you want it, draw the tip of the iron up the verticals and across the bottom where the divider and the box meet - not too slow, but not too fast either...2-3 seconds to run up each vertical and across the bottom...do both sides of the divider for max strength.

Those Bass Mafia boxes are great. I got mine on BF sale and use some coupons  at Dick’s.

Only have one though, the rest of mine are the Flambeau Tuff Tainers for the Zerust dividers.

My buddy gave me the one he had, since all the latches broke off ?
