5"-6"inch boot tail swimbait line I currently have 20lb fluro on a 7'6"hvy but now that I'm thinking it over I think it might just be to heavy to get the best action out of a normal boot tail and was thinking of dropping it down to around 14 fluro do you agree with this?

I've been cycling between .33 and .40mm based on price/availability.  I haven't seen a noticeable change in head wag.  8/0 beasts on 14lb might make me a little nervous around cover, I tend to swing for the fences on weedless swimbaits.  Not sure if this is helpful.

Either will work. The heavier line will have an impact on the action, but that is not always a bad thing. I would go lighter with an open hook, and heavier with a buried one.

I use 50# braid, same as for a frog.
But I’m throwing in and around all kinds of vegetation.

The action is just fine.
