Ok so everyone was very helpful with my texas rig rods with line suggestions I was hoping the same thing would happen here

I have 4 jig rods I'm setting up

2- 7' Hvy fast actions I'm thinking for these I will use 14 sniper

1-7' mh xtra fast  I'm thinking for this one which will mainly be hair jigs I will go 12lb fluro sniper

1-7'4" This one I'm not for sure on I'm sorta thinking of going to straight braid for heavy cover (I'm worried about the line digging into brush/wood)

I fish jigs on braid to leader with success. 40# 832 to 25# sniper. I use the leader for abrasion resistance in rocks mostly, but it also cuts down on dig in and unwanted noise in wood.

Many people hate the idea of braid to leader on baitcasters, but it has become the norm for me.

2- 7' Hvy fast actions I would go with 20 Fluoro, 14 is too light for me, with a heavy rod.  I feel like this is asking to break off.  My 7’2 heavy flipping rod has 20 pound fluoro, and is perfect for flipping a jig around docks, bushes, rocks, etc.

1-7' mh xtra fast I use 15 fluoro on my jig rod with similar specs.  You can throw just about any jig up to 1/2 ounce on this combo.

1-7'4” I like the straight braid idea.  Might go 50 pound braid with a 20 pound fluoro leader.

Here's my version ~

Line choice (type/size) for jigs (and TX rigged Plastics)

besides being driven by the type & amount of cover,

is also determined by the HOOK I plan on sinking into a big bass.

If 12 & 14 lb FC works right there than you should be good.

I would probably be going at least 17 - 20, maybe even 22 lb.

Finally, I prefer braid for soft cover (weeks & pads),

and FC for hard cover,  (wood, rocks & some docks).

Good Luck

40 lb regular Power Pro to a 15 lb mono or fluoro leader, but then again I mainly fish football jigs in rocky highland reservoirs. Might go down to 12 lb fluoro if I have to downsize the jig and trailer.

Straight 40# 832. No need for a leader in cover. I fish it in wood all the time and don't often have an issue with it biting in.

For jigs in or around grass or light cover I use 40lb Sufix 832. Jigs on a MH around wood get thrown on 15 lb Sniper and jigs on a H around wood get thrown on 20 lb Shooter.

I  have used 12 FC on my 6 power jig rods for decades. The rod doesn’t break line the user does. Set the drag at 4 lbs and trust it. Need more force use your thumb. Fishing in wood cover you need to control the bass, if that requires heavier line then use it.

This is the reason I throw Strike King's Hack Attack Fluorocarbon Flipping Jig. The hook is somewhere between a standard hook & a punch hook. I do the same with my worm hooks.

Y'all know me, I'm throwing 15# Big Game.

Three criteria will determine the line and combo I use when jig fishing. The first is presentation (casting, or flipping), the second is the cover, or lack of, that I'll be targeting  and third is water color.  I find that I can get away with heavier test line in stained and muddy water and I will always opt for the heaviest line I feel is applicable.

I do most of my jig fishing these days on a MH-H rod with 16# fluorocarbon. For the real thick cover, I'll go to braid on a flipping stick. So I figure you gotta put 50-65# braid on one of your heavy rods for the same purpose.
