Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 18, 2022 Global Moderator Posted February 18, 2022 Taco Bell is my fast food of choice. 15 years of eating jail food, it doesn't bother my stomach like everyone says it's supposed to. 9 Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted February 18, 2022 Global Moderator Posted February 18, 2022 I’m on the road all day everyday and I used to do the drive thru gig. I gave it up 1-1.5 years ago. I changed my ways and do protein bars for lunch. Eating the fast food would slow me down, the two protein bars not so much. Changing my eating habits has resulted in a loss of 40-45 lbs. Friday and Saturday are my cheat days lunch Friday (not burgers or tacos) usually a few beers for dinner, and Saturday night we’ll make tacos, burritos, order pizza, or some sort of take out for dinner, then a healthy dinner Sunday. I’ll do a pop once or twice a month, otherwise it’s water during the day and iced tea (not sweet ?) for dinner. 8 Quote

But Holey Moley do I enjoy it while I'm eating it. With plenty of malt vinegar. 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted February 18, 2022 Super User Posted February 18, 2022 I ate fast food consistently between the ages of 15-30. One day when I was around 32 I was working and they had just come out with double whoppers at burger king. I had one and felt like someone was sitting on my chest for 3 days. That started me on the sub - for - lunch path unless I was eating with others. For many years I rarely ate a take out hamburger, just chicken or fish. I still got the fries and sweet tea though of course. Fast forward to now: I very rarely go to fast food when I’m by myself , although wendies hung on for a long time…I’ll either skip lunch altogether, or I go to “ chowdown alley”, which is a local grill. That does not include Chic fil a ! I still eat there occasionally. The main reasons I’m nearly fast food free: It’s mostly unhealthy, especially the salt, which keeps my blood pressure high. It’s way too expensive now, and the service is not so fast.( There’s a local Mcdonalds that I told my wife I don’t care what she does to me, I will never go back there to pick up “food” for the family ever again.) The worst service I have ever seen, which is saying a lot. I concur with the Krystal assessment. I could eat 10-15 of them right now though ! ? But I won’t… 3 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted February 19, 2022 Super User Posted February 19, 2022 I work with some folks that have fast food everyday for lunch. I brown bag a Turkey and cheese sandwich and a pack of mixed nuts for lunch most days. Sub out a Greek yogurt some days for the sandwich. Fast food fr me is when I need just that something fast. Usually a late work night and I will grab something on the way home to eat. I try to find the “healthiest” thing on the menu, Wendy’s grilled chicken sandwich or the power bowl option at Taco Bell. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted February 19, 2022 Super User Posted February 19, 2022 Oh no, i don't do fast food. But I'll eat 2 ribeye steaks smothered in Lowry's and 3 glasses of red wine......very health conscious here. 5 Quote
padlin Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Ate fast food when I was younger, maybe a couple times a week for lunch at work. As I got older I cared for it less and less. These days the only time we do fast food is when we are traveling and there is no choice. Never cared about the health aspect one way or the other, don't eat it cause it tastes like crap and I can do so much better cooking my own. May have something to do with the way they've had to change the ingredients to keep the health conscious happy. Quote
LonnieP Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 I very rarely eat fast food. When I do, I always regret it because I always end up feeling like crap afterwards. It’s gotten too expensive as well. It’s just as cheap to go eat at a sit down restaurant with decent food. 1 Quote

So many people eat crap and get used to the feeling, eating fruits vegetables and chickenbreast/fish can be bland, messy, or longer to prepare, but it makes you feel so much better. Not a Nutritionals or a health nut, I just eat what I grow... and sadly I cannot grow doritos or lays, and believe me I tried planting them in my garden ? 4 Quote

You have to use a good root stimulator when you plant Doritos, otherwise they’ll never get a good set of roots on them ? 2 Quote

Super User GreenPig Posted February 20, 2022 Super User Posted February 20, 2022 I eat what I want when I want these days but do not drink colas ever. I used to weigh in between 275 - 295 and ate 4 - 8,000 clean calories a day to maintain it. For a couple decades I stayed between 6 - 10% body fat. One day I realized between the eating every couple hours, weight training/cardio, and getting ample sleep everything else in my life was neglected time wise. I'm now 230 lbs with a resting pulse of 62 BPM, great BP, and a cholesterol #'s that my doctor shakes his head at because he's knows I'm a pretty serious CARNIVORE. Quote
