I was KILLING em the last two days!

8 fish yesterday, 13 today.  Largest was 7.15lbs, caught today on a green pumpkin 4" powerbait pit boss with a 5/16oz black tungsten weight pegged to the lure.

Anyhow, NOW there's gonna be a strong cold front tomorrow morning to come shut things down.  Im SO ticked.  I was finally having a GREAT run of catches, and the weather's gonna ruin it lol

The wind was HEAVY...steady at 15-18mph, gusts to 25.  Whitecaps on the lake.

I was blind casting into really heavy hydrilla/fillamentous algae mats and hoping to hit small open pockets.  It worked.

I was working hard for em, but I was catching em.

Now, I'm just throwing a temper tantrum over the weather lol

In the 60's here yesterday.  6" snow and close to zero tonight.

...or made them feel better about it.

I'm honestly genuinely super ticked off man...that was an awesome run.

It's coming down pretty good here and in the low 20's, feels like single digits, might make the bite a little tough this weekend ? If I have it my way I'll be out there trying though. Sucks because our lakes just thawed and made it into the low 40's.

Lol....that's Northwest Missouri in February.  We don't actually have snow but South of me (Bluebasser's area) is getting pounded

It was drifted but there was over a foot of snow in my driveway. Sounds like we got around 8-10 inches of snow though. Hoping they'll have the roads cleared enough by Saturday for me to pull the boat. I got it all dug out just in time for the plows to push all the snow right back into our driveway.

Just wait a day, it's gonna close to 70 degrees again today and tomorrow.  What really sucks is that the forecast calls for rain for next Monday through Thursday while the temps are supposed to climb into the upper 70s.  Louisiana weather changes faster than my wife changes her mind,

I would.  My experience says this time of year, the big girls moved up to feed and no cold front is gonna stop them completely.  I think they're the first ones back in on the attack and it pays to hunt them in the cold.  Less bites, but all are the right ones, and that's why I fish.

Around here it's 33 degrees in the morning, but 65 degrees in the afternoon.

But for the next week it's going to be in the 60's to 80's during the day and 50's and 60's at night so hopefully we'll see some fairly rapid warming of the water and kick off the pre-spawn frenzy. The timing couldn't be better - I'm fishing in my first tournament on Friday.

As luck would have it, I bought some Huk rain gear just the other week.

I can be very consistent,  not catching fish, in all types of weather.

We had a warm weekend and my local pond lost a small amount of its ice which got my hopes up...then I looked at the weather. The next 5 days the warmest day is 30...gonna have several lows around -5.

I can't relate I live in NJ. I miss open water...

yup.  Those couple days of highs in the upper 50's had me excited for an early thaw.  Then 6 degrees killed that idea.  58 degree rain right tonight and tomorrow might pull a little more ice off until the weekend when its not above freezing for a couple more days.  Tis the season of the tease.  Last year it was mid march before the lakes were half thawed.  I think it will be later this year given how much ice we have.

Ever considered sprinkling black ashes all over a lake to help the ice melt?  I might have considered it lately...
