Imho they are not worth the $$$. I have one and rarely use it. Once you are good with your foot pedal your hands will be doing fishing things. Not useless but not worth the money to me.

If your going to do that just get the i-pilot.   That way you get Co-pilot, Auto-Pilot, and the i-pilot, which allows the "spot lock" feature.  I think spot lock would be worth the money alone, just hit a button and it keeps your boat within a 5 foot circle basically "anchoring" you with your trolling motor.

I currently have th co-pilot and never use it, other than when I am trolling for species like crappie or striper.  Bass fishing it stays in the storage compartment... to hard to use like that.  Auto-pilot is nice though, and I use that quite frequently.

I totally agree with TommyBass. Two of my fishing buddies have this device. It works flawlessly from any position in the boat and gives you a world of control. And you don't have to stay locked on the foot control. Especially nice if you're fishing solo.

I'm curious as to why would you want to "get good" with a foot pedal? No need to "get good" with the remote. You're good to go, right from the "git-go". :)

I've fished with these fine fishermen for a couple of years now and it baffles me when people criticize innovations, like these remote controls. Please, tell me what the "negatives" are? :(

I have the Co-pilot and I just upgraded to the iPilot.  I loved my copilot and I REALLY love my iPilot.

That thing is freakin SWEET.

If you are thinking of upgrading the Terrova, spend the extra money for the iPilot.  That thing is AWESOME!
