MontclairDave Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Lure comes in both versions. I’ve read that silent better for pressured fish. Any experience with both versions? If you were gonna start out with one, which one? I fish some pressured waters, others not so much. Leaning towards silent since most of my walking baits (Shower blows etc) do have rattles. Thanks! I live in socal and fish some of the most pressured fisheries in the country, one knockers work very well, scilent lures also work well but in those windy topwater conditions I feel they key in on the knockers a little better Quote

There's no way to predict their mood. If both options are available I always get both. Can't help it, but there's a reason. So many times where I thought I was fishing dead water, but then changed up slightly and hammered them good. 1 Quote
Basser2021 Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 I use both but one or the other depending on water clarity If the water is clear I like the silent ones but if the water is muddy I like loud ones But that is just my opinion Quote
Scott804 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 If I could only have one, silent. Dog X is a mean walking bait. I don't know what it is but that thing will get bit when my other walkers don't. I think the clean cutting action it has + being silent can be really good in calm conditions. I have caught a lot on the rattling one when it is raining/choppy, though. If you are fishing pressured water I would probably lean toward silent. 1 Quote
bigspirit Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 I picked up a silent version yesterday, I think it is going to be killer on the lakes I fish that are highly pressured. side note though, the one I got is the clear gill color and it seems to have almost no orange on the belly, whereas from pictures it looks like they have a pretty noticeable orange underside. 1 Quote
