wordty Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I looked through the forums hoping to not post this if it has been posted....While the sales at BPS classic have not been good in most of our opinions the past years, I still like seeing the flyer. Has anyone seen it yet? I've not bought during the classic since pre-Covid. Seems like their sale prices are still higher than other local stores that I won't name here. 1 Quote
PressuredFishing Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I have been really turned off with basspro and have been shopping at local tackle shops and TW over them for a few reasons, I wont rant about them though, but in a nutshell they peddle their products over name brand rod reel and lure companies, and they never have sales because they take their sales base and consumers for granite, and if I want off brand rods, reels, and lures I can just buy online for higher quality cheaper products in the factories where BPS probably makes their equipment 3 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 15, 2022 Super User Posted February 15, 2022 I don’t think it is out yet. I only live 9 miles from them and don’t have one. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted February 15, 2022 Super User Posted February 15, 2022 They have nothing in stock. Kind of hard to have a sale on nothing. 2 3 Quote
volzfan59 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 They moved the Spring Fishing Classic to late March last year. I'm assuming it will be the same for 2022. 1 Quote

I don't know, I've made numerous orders since the pandemic started, including two Garmin's, and they've had everything in stock. Went to the Little Rock, Springfield and Nashville BPS stores through the year. While the actual stores were low on some rods, they had plenty of lures. Maybe we were shopping for different items. The 2022 Spring Fishing Classic dates are March 10th through the 30th. I got those dates came from the 2022 Master Catalog. Quote

newapti5 Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 The 2022 new Pro Qualifier Reel looks interesting, but seems a little plastic-y. This series used to be the spotlighted product during the Spring Classic sale. Quote

Those things used to be the best seller and they're practically bulletproof if you even halfway do preventive maintenance on them. Quote

Last_Cast Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 I like going to BPS to try things out in person and then buy online. They're overpriced and the ones by me are pretty empty anyway, but hopefully you'll get the fliers soon Quote

It looks like it's the same as the PQ2, only with a different paint job. Probably made in China instead of Korea, as the last few years of the PQ2 were shifted to China, I believe. I have a PQ2 that's about 4 years old now. It's a bit geary, but still fishes well. Not as well made as my other reels, but it hasn't failed me yet, so I can't complain. I did upgrade the drag though and do a complete tear down and rebuild every year. So that helps to keep it going. 1 Quote

I have six of the gen 1 PQ's on my Crankin' Sticks. Like you, I maintenance them annually. I also add a couple of drops of Lucas reel oil the bearings around July. I'm going to PM you about upgrades. 1 Quote
K1500 Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 I’ve had 3 PQ2’s limited/special editions and they were the some of the worst reels I’ve ever had. Maybe they all came from the same run of lemons. 2 Quote
Alex from GA Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 They have 2 stroke oil on sale for $13 a gallon minimum 4 gallons. It's semi synthetic and ships for free. 1 Quote

The PQ1 was a much better reel. There will always be lemons, Shimano, Diawa, etc, they all have them, some more than others. I bought a bunch of PQ1's during the change. I hope I get my sales flier today! Quote

Cody28 Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 I received the catalogue for the first time this year. Is this an event you have to go to or will these sales be online too? Quote

Everything else will be marked down (if it's truly marked down) online as well. Quote

Hutch13 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 The Spring Classic sale pages are now live, but without the sale prices showing. For now, you can browse and see what will be on sale, you just can't see the sale price. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/spring-fishing-classic Quote
