Hydraulic steering hose wrinkle

This hose has exhibited what I’m calling wrinkles in the inside of the bend for some time. No leakage that I can see at fittings etc. Kind of looks to me like the sheathing has delaminated from the inside of the hose. Maybe not a big issue but I’m no expert in hydraulic hoses.  Looking for opinions on whether it should be replaced or not. The other hose doesn’t have them and is actually in a tighter radius. It’s due for new gland seals on the cylinder and given the time I had bleeding the system  last time I figure if the hose needs replaced I’d rather do it at the same time and bleed it once. Thanks for any advice.

The outer sheath is nothing but weather and wear protection, it does nothing as far as affecting the reliability of the hose.  It's not uncommon for it to completely dry rot and break off so all you see is the white bradded inner hose.  I've seen the hose on the uprights of forklifts used outdoors, that have been missing that out shell for years on end.  Unless you have a pocket full of money you need to throw away, I would keep on running them.

The inner hose is flexible metal, the 2nd layer is metal braid to prevent the flexible metal from stretching under pressure and wear. The outer jacket prevents the metal braid damaging your gel coat, nothing functional.

Thanks guys. Definitely don’t want to throw any money out on something that doesn’t need to be fixed. There’s enough stuff always needing to be fixed around here to keep any money from accumulating in my pockets.

Mine had Synflex hoses, but regardless of if it's Synflex or steel braid, the outer shell is just for wear protection.
