Besides a few blips, that'll be as good as it gets for some time. A whole lot of at or below freezing night time temps until the end of the 1st week of March. 1 Quote

Both just under 50 degrees as the high temperature. Some of those ‘blips’. I plan on making it out soon ?. Just to wet a line, really Quote

I got 2 shots this week, and actually caught a couple, and next week looks promising. 2 Quote

Excellent! The nice thing about having that small of an area to work with is it will force me to slow way down. I also won't have to worry my mind about where to fish! Lol Quote
Luke Barnes Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 I fished a small pond that was like this a few weeks ago. I had the time so I said I dont care if I catch anything I'm still going. I played with casting it on the ice and dragging it and let it fall barely off the edge of the ice, straight down. I should have used a weightless plastic but was using a finesse jig that I already had a baby rage craw on so probably too much action but I figured it would get their attention. Either way it was fun, except losing a brand new blade bait I had bought an hour before, within 10 casts haha. 1 Quote

Hopefully the ice will cooperate and give me a break, or else I'll be back to living vicariously through @N Florida Mike. Dude is down there catching fish in a T-shirt and underwear. 1 hour ago, Deleted account said: I got 2 shots this week, and actually caught a couple, You must be down at your MD chalet. Nothing but lure hockey up here at the moment. 1 Quote

LOL. Yeah, in MD, but I had to wait out the skim ice to get started. Funny, some spots are solid, and others are slushy. Next couple of weeks look doable. I just have to commit to bass, cause the pickerel are much more willing, and this time a year there is no cross over. 1 Quote
Bigassbass Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 This coming up week the temps will be in the 50's and the quick pic store has restocked nightcrawlers so, I'll be going fishing by Wed or Thursday hungry fish will eat a good ole worm any day even in the winter! 1 Quote

I know that’s right! I caught perch today with bits of night crawler and kept throwing them in a bucket. At first I didn’t realize why they weren’t swimming around in the bucket, the water was turning into ice 1 1 Quote
